He don't know what happened. But he easily believes pakhi over sai. He needs PROOF to believe his wife but blindly trusts pakhi.

After getting exposed to pakhi intentions many times,after seeing Sai good heart many times he still believes pakhi over sai. That says everything.

He "loves" sai but trusts ,respects pakhi.

That way V isnt made culpable for anything that happens in his absence and everyone (including Ashwini) conveniently skip to inform him of the circumstances.

The recent and glaring one that I can remember is Sai calling Kadam to the house during Holika Dahan. When V went inside and the whole drama started when they wanted to throw Sai out of the house.
