Why do some Private Forums have a Join Request button and others have a Join button?

As far as I see, Samskrta Text Discussion is still the only Auto Join forum. Strangely, I am getting notifications that members Joined (one even left immediately after Joining), and meanwhile the Topics’ numbers of views remain the same. I guess members are Joining just to watch what Topics will appear later because the Topics started by me are really boring. (Moderators may disagree.)

The one's which show Join Request Button are basically in a 'invites only'/approval needed to join mode whereas the open ones, which generally anyone can automatically join without the creator's approval, show Join button.

Also for the second paragraph:

Not just your forum even my forum is on Auto Join mode and i don't think there's any reason to blame anyone, especially the admin, for less traffic in our forums. Afterall public interest matters. If you're too concerned about your topics being revealed and people not joining in, you can too switch to an approval based/invites only forum

I hope you understand my words this time too and pardon me for not using the exact terms:)

"Join" button for Auto Join forums and "Join Request" for "Approval Basis" forums.

I'm unable to access the members. It keeps buffering for the last 2+ hours.

Edit : it works fine in other forums.

As suggested above:

We are making changes so that we allow Creators / Managers to invite members. Currently this is just with Invite Only but we are changing it to All Private forums.

Is there a way to invite members for an open-to-join forum? 🤔

Edit - I saw your response on the previous page. Please ignore.

Thank you both. I see that this must be what is happening, as the Invitation Only forums are no longer visible, and when I try to view the Join Request forums, I get prompted to send a request, while trying to view the Join forums gets me a prompt to join on my own.

I liked it better when anyone could view my privately created forum without having to Join. If a member is just going to look around and leave, getting a notification that so-and-so Joined is like being prompted to market my forum to that person. “What could be done to offer you an improved experience on your next visit?”

In our next update we will be addressing this and expanding the role of Managers also.

Manager will have the following:

  • will be able to Moderate (Trash post / Edit Post / Edit Topic / Lock Topics)
  • will be able to accept Join requests so that members are accepted faster.
  • will be able to block a member from that forum.
  • will be able to invite other members to join the forum.

Creator will have all powers of Managers and:

  • will be able to update Forum settings.
  • will be able to update Display Image and Forum Banner
  • will be able to add / remove Manager
  • will have the power to Lock and Archive the forum (we will add this feature later)
  • will have their name displayed in the Forum list.
