Anupama is a regressive idea but its realistic and relatable because of the plot and characters right and that is why it had worked. I am speaking in that sense. Right now there's no need to be a completely workplace oriented drama like other countries for primetime just showing few educated FLs and how they deal with their daily lives can even bring back the audiences.

Yes that kind of relatable content can work. There are many realistic topics to bring shows about which even village audience can relate to like they can bring something about the laid back teachers in villages etc but ITV doesn't want to experiment.

Exactly. The kind of shows that we need right now is about a wife whose husband is jobless and eats her wife's money despite them having love marriage and how she deals with him, a story of women trying to balance her sasural and worklife post giving baby birth, bunch of women trying reach the top, woman friendship in their late 30s etc. And then romantic shows of two established main leads. Everything will get bad beyond 200 episodes but the concept should be updated atleast.

Colors started with concepts which were never explored before on ITV. Since the core belonged to Villages it got this rural regressive tag. Be it child bride female infanticide bondage labourers honour killing etc. All such concepts made the channel topper and post that all rival channels started copying this trend of having village backdrop.

Interior villages of India and their reality were harsh to accept and this was shown on ITV.

Balika Vadhu Uttaran Laado were smashing sleeper hits and blockbuster shows for Colors and OG plots (Remakes nahi they atleast)

Just had to make this point. Rest i do accept about Pinjara Namak being pathetic shows.
