"Anuj..."
"Mmmm?"
"I am going to make tea... do you want something?"
"Uh... yes I would love some hot chocolate... let me just send this mail and come help..."
Anu nodded and walked to the kitchen. She quickly placed the pan and poured in the milk. Thinking of making his hot chocolate first, she opened the cupboard to take the container with cocoa powder. As she twisted open the container, her eyes widened as she saw that the container was totally empty. A day sometime long long ago flashed before her eyes.
"I am really sorry... I really forgot to buy the brand of tea you drink.. shall I use the one we all use?"
"How dare you? Where is your mind? All you think about is yourself. A man comes home tired and he can't get a proper cup of tea... You are the most useless wife... so irresponsible.... I don't care... now go out and get the tea..."
"But... it's dark and raining outside."
"So? My tea is more important... if you really did care, you shouldn't have forgotten... hope you'll learn a lesson... now move... I can't wait longer than 10 minutes."
She shivered now as she remembered the dark cold night she had walked alone praying fervently for her safety as peals of thunder echoed in her ears. It was the first time she had ever gone out in the dark. As the memory made her heart ache, a small sound made her look up. She saw him looking at her keenly from the kitchen door.
"Anuj..."
"Yes, Mohatarma..."
"Anuj... the... the..."
"The cocoa powder is done?"
"Yes.. so..."
He interrupted her.
"Let's make tea together..."
And he walked behind her and guided her arms to make tea.

Half an hour later, they were sitting in the balcony with empty cups. She was propped between his legs as usual, leaning against his chest unusually quiet. He bent down and pecked softly at her cheek.
"What is it?"
"Nothing..."
"Come on, Anu... you know I know something is bothering you..."
She rubbed her head against his chest and he wrapped his hands tight around her waist. She snuggled closer and whispered
"That night was so cold when I had to run out in the dark visiting shop after shop for a particular brand of tea... I wish I had your hands holding me tight like this... I would have felt warm...."
He placed his head on her shoulder and rubbed his stubble with her cheek. As the rough hairs tickled her senses, she shut her eyes and felt warmth pooling her insides. He gently shifted her saree with one hand and let the palm of his other caress her waist rubbing them gently. She gave a moan of pleasure leaning back into him.
"Anujjjj..."
"Feeling warm now, wifey?"
"Mm hmmm..."
He smirked.
"How about I take you in and make you warmer? It's a cold night after all..."
In response, she turned, wrapped her hands around his neck and leaned forward to his ears. She gently bit his earlobe and whispered
"I am yours to keep..."
His eyes darkened.
"Mine alone..."
He carried her in and made sure the cold winds never reached her again.
