17 July 2022 Evergreen Songs. Anandji Special. "Don Daadu Returns" 🙄

Aryananda. Raina Beeti Jaaye. Pyaar Hua Ikraar Hua. Among her better performances. But her best probably is still the one they didn't show - the duets with Arunita. The first song is a very difficult one and she did very well in that, except for a little nasal voice. Also she doesn't seem to open her mouth fully - that seems to be root cause of her problems. I believe it was Anandji who told Nihal to sing with an open mouth but he didn't tell that to Aryananda. DHD.

Samaira. Kahin Yeh Woh Toh Nahin. Aplam Chaplam. Again one very difficult song and one breezy song. No surprise that she did well in the second song, but she did very well in the first one too. Her voice doesn't have the sweetness but maybe with age it will change. But technically she was very good today. Anandji also called out the huge improvement in her. DHD.

Pranjal. Ruk Jaana Nahin. The Duitara actually works and it was used👍. Finally! He sang well. The start was okay okay but the song went well. It was also good to see him dance - clearly he has done this before for he danced well. He also brought in Pawandeep's signature step 😄. It was good to see Pawandeep being genuinely happy.

Sayisha. Mud Mud Ke Na Dekh. Unse Mili Nazar Ke Mere Hosh Ud Gaye. Two different songs but both handled very well. Low notes, high notes, voice modulation, emotions, mischief... She has captured everything. No wonder all the judges praised her as did Anandji. Surprisingly no DHD.

Rohan and Pratyush. Pag Ghunghroo Baandh. They both did quite well actually. Rohan's voice is inherently more powerful than Pratyush and he emotes and enacts much more but in terms of the singing I think today Pratyush wasn't overshadowed as much as I felt from the promo.

Rituraj. Jeena Yahan Marna Yahan. Very well sung and very well enacted👍. This sounds like an easy song but the challenge lies in capturing the emotions and the nuances notes, and Rituraj proved once again that he is a contender for the title.

Mani. Kun Faya. So... Well. More of the genre they have slotted him into. He did well, but that we know by now. We really need to see him getting something different. He did get a DHD.

Faiz. Yeh Raat Bheegi Bheegi. Ek Ajnabee Haseena Se. My word! Alka Yagnik said it right - this is a superstar of the future. He justified both songs so well. The first one was too short probably because of the editing. I wanted it to go on longer! DHD

Soyab. Akele Hain Chale Aao. Same song that he sang when Anandji bhai came for the first time. They made it appear that Anandji bhai asked him to show whether he had acted on the feedback given last time. Well, maybe that really was the case. Regardless, Soyab really did well. He showed that he is not just about the shrill screaming but can also go low. Well done.

Chetanya and Aruna. Buleya. First off, quite unfair to them that they get bundles together into one performance towards the end of the entire weekend, while others get to sing on both days! That too on a song which isn't even a duet originally! Having said that, they both did what they usually do. Maybe the song also doesn't offer a lot of scope to show their prowess. At least they got a DHD.

Team of the week. Danish. I mean - how? Two of the three didn't even get a proper chance to perform! Totally Illogical!

Medals. Faiz. Rituraj. Pranjal. Pratyush. Samaira. Can't agree with excluding Sayisha here. Would have included her instead of Pratyush or Samaira.

No elimination this weekend.

Other things to note:

Arunita providing the back up vocals to Faiz for Yeh Raat Bheegi Bheegi. 👍👍👍 While both episodes this weekend have been excellent, this was by far the highlight of the entire weekend. I just didn't want it to end! She is truly truly blessed, and we are blessed to be able to hear her!

Pawandeep singing Mere Hosh Ud Gaye for Sayisha with the judges and others... But looking leftwards 😄

Rituraj - I didn't understand the drama about the fake tears. Did he really do this or was it all scripted?

Yesterday was beyond limit. They showed Arunita's picture with her dad on the big screen, but then showed Sayli instead if showing Arunita!

17th July Evergreen songs with Anandji.

Aryananda:- Just when I thought she had improved in terms of clarity & tonal power, she is back to square one. 2 iconic songs rendered without feel, or it appears so since she suppresses her tone ; at some places her voice just comes out as a mere whisper. I don’t know why she isn’t getting guided properly - someone should make her understand that this is not voice modulation. Such a pity- with a voice like that she fails to connect - at least with me. Don’t think it deserved the DHD.

Samaira :- A very enjoyable performance. Kahi ye woh toh nahi is a tough song,while Apalam is a breezy fast number. She did justice to both. 👍.

Pranjal :- back to Bengali prelude, but it was done well as also the main song Ruk Jana Nahi.
Sayisha :- she was superb in Mud Mud ke - catching the differences in the pitch & tempo perfectly as well as the nuances. The second one was an easy song which is a breeze for her. 👍

Rohan -Pratyush :- Individually they have a long way to go, but together they rock. A thoroughly enjoyable Pag Ghungroo 👍. Pratyush was better than what I gathered from the promo. But Rohan again is the better half 😀

Rituraj :- I am stumped for words. What a performance it was. 👍💕👌 It went straight to the heart. 💕.As HR pointed out, apart from the flawless singing, he understands the emotions & expresses it through the words. Every word is audible & comes laden with the emotion. This is where he scores over Arya.

Mani :- Another ARR , another high-note song given at a high scale. Didn’t enjoy. Somewhere along the way the essence of the song failed to come through. Don’t think he deserved DHD.

Faiz :- Ye Raat Bheegi Bheegi made me crave for me, esp with Aru in the background. 💕. Ek Ajnabi was superb. Just close your eyes & listen , you wouldn’t think it is by a 14yr old. This boy is ready for playback. 👍

Soyab :- Another iconic song rendered v well. ( For the second time, scripted in cleverly by TCT). In fact his performance was better than Mani’s.

Arunita /Chetanya :- my least favourite ones. Decent is all I would say, since it was a tough song.

*Sayli Cam - lip synchs, enactments, gestures, jumps, all captured for posterity & served at regular intervals of what… 2 mnts? During Samaria’s performance,I thought she would pop out of my screen & I would’ve to sing ‘ kahin ye woh toh nahin….’😳😡😩

* Can we stop this supposedly Pranjalspeak which is actually Deyspeak? 😳

Finally…. Somebody is definitely stalking this forum. Just when the call for the Fakir Hunt was piping up, the duitaara finds a life again - albeit briefly. The camera close-ups speaking volumes here.. we get the point. 😀 Fakir can go hide for now.😃

Overall a very enjoyable episode. 👍

From Shankar Jaikishen , C Ramachandra, Madan Mohan, RD, Bappida to ARR… they justified the theme of Evergreen Songs. Rockstar & ADHM could’ve been replaced by some older gems, since they would be evergreen only down the lane. Looks like some tweaking done here for the respective singers. Interestingly only one K A number was there - that too a repeat - of Soyab’s.
And before I sign out…. Arunitaaaaa, can we have more of you ???? 💕💕💕♥️

Enjoyed most of it. Spoiler alert: Aru does sing 😆 But only PD had a proper performance this week, the one with Sayisha yesterday.

Favorites in order -

Rituraj: One of the finest performances this season imo.
yes, absolutely. One of the mal show judges MJ said this about

him “ music is not just about notes, it is an experience about catching the emotions”. This sums up everything about Rituraj.

How good was he! Like HR said, he understood every word he was singing and meant it. So beautifully done.

Faiz: Just loved it. Justified both the songs. Especially loved Ek Ajnabee. Also, Aru's voiceover was a welcome surprise. And glad to see some proper comments from judges.

Samaira: She has improved a lot, in singing as well as confidence. She eased into the performance it seems. Enjoyable rendition of both songs. Loved Apalam Chaplam in her voice.

Sayisha: Beautiful. I have ceased to be surprised with her performances now coz she really never disappoints. Not placing her above Samaira cuz I wasn't familiar with the songs she sung, so was a bit disconnected.

Rohan-Pratyush: Both of them did well, though I have some complaints. There was too much playacting that distracted them from the singing. I did enjoy Rohan's voice more, but Pratyush shined better in some parts. Especially during the sargam, he was heard well above Rohan. Can't pick who was better. Enjoyed overall cuz I love this song.

Soyeb: Very short performance. I wonder why they wouldn't let him sing a fresh song He did well. Don't remember his previous rendition, but enjoyed this one.

Pranjal: Really enjoyed it, though it did make me sleepy His voice has a very relaxing effect.

Chetanya-Aruna: Aruna did really well. Chetanya has a heaviness in his voice which makes his voice a bit umm, how do I say, blurry? 🤪 You get the gist.

This was a great pairing though. Surprising that they haven't sung together before.

Mani: Umm, idk, this didn't go as well as I hoped. All that constant screaming just ruined the song imo 🤪
Absolutely. Didn’t enjoy it at all. The poor child also appeared to be straining too much. Highly avoidable.

I enjoyed Faiz's voice in the chorus much more than Mani's performance. Though since he sang a big chunk of the song, there were some bits that were really enjoyable. Overall, I was kinda disappointed tbh. That wasn't how I envisioned Kun Faya Kun on stage.

Aryananda: Only enjoyed Pyaar Hua Ikraar Hua, which she sang well. I could barely make out her words in the first song. Overrated to the max imo. Wouldn't mind her getting eliminated next.

My thoughts too. But they may retain her since the other two from Danish”s team are unlikely to make it to the finals. Just my POV.

Aryananda is definitely over-rated.

Tbf, don't mind the ordering lol I could only determine first two. The rest of the performances were pretty much on-par with each other 😆 Furthermore-

I hated how they teased Rituraj about his crying, like what was that 🤔 Aditya's acting was unbearable. Now you know why he chose anchoring despite an early filmi debut.🤣

Sayisha seemed a bit uncomfortable dancing with Anandji 🤪

Sayli Cam should seriously take a rest. That pink dress is going to haunt my dreams I feel

Also, Team of the week. Danish ke Dabangg?!?! Logic nahi samajh aati inki. It should have been a joint win for Pawan/Salman imo. Or even Aru. Team Danish wasn't even average enough to be considered.

Top 5 - Faiz, Rituraj, Pranjal, Pratyush, Samaira. Umm, good one I guess. Maybe Sayisha instead of Samaira.

That was brief. When everyone joined HR to sing for Sayisha he turns very briefly to the left - just enough to make the right eye contact 🙂

As you can see, she sang with her mouth open and in a full throated voice. For some reason she isn't doing that in SS2. When she makes her vote appeal you can see how strong her voice really is.

I have a feeling there is something wrong with the way Neeraj Kalkar and his team are handling her. Shameful and sad!
