I seriously never understand typecasting people like that. The disgusting mindset to stereotype people basis such characteristics. South Indian means they have to be shown as dark. Isn’t that racial discrimination? It is by no means derogatory or low having a darker tone. But by such acts they indirectly support this. Who says every South Indian has to have a dark skin tone? Why generalise and make such distinctions? The same goes for accent. As if there are no accent issues with anyone other people.
In school I used to pull up anyone who would call me Madrasi. I would ask them to get their geography atleast around their country correct. My retorts would be like would u call a UPite a bihari or a Himachali a punjabi. Then why do they do so with South Indians. All South Indians people are similar and they eat dosa🤦♀️ The same mindset they have to NE Indians. Just because I don’t fit in their description of a South Indian of dark skinned, with no accent and fluent hindi and not restricted to eating Dosa, they call me a stain on being “madrasi”. Such double standards!
And these shows only promote such thoughts by showing exactly the same thing.
I’m as proud to be a south indian as I’m being a North indian and most importantly being an Indian. Why discriminate and characterise based on such things?
They can't show normal Tamil, keralite, kannadiga n Telugu people. Showing every south Indian as madrasi who only eats Idli dosa rice sambar. They shows that ladies always wear silk saree n gajra at home, men will wear dhoti. They don't know difference between lungi n veshti. South Indian fav actor is only Rajiinikanth apart from kamal, vijay, ajith, surya, danush, vikram, ramcharan, allu arjun, mammooka, mohanlal, fahad,dq,yash, punit. Their cringe dialogues r like ayyo kadavule, ayyo venkateshwara. Showing only Brahmin family as tamil family.
