Non-PG junior residents could even become senior residents, but not in Surgery. Only in Medicine and Accident and Emergency.

I know that in the South, house surgeons are interns. Also in some Delhi hospitals.

Junior residents - after internship/first year PG residents. Their pay and their stature is the same but obviously the non PG JRs have less respect.

Non PG JRs have to leave after 1-2 years depending on the hospital's contract. PG JRs gradually become SRs by their final year/after their final year depending on the contract/vacancy.

That is how it worked when I was a lowly intern. Summa cum laude I graduated, and got about 1/10th of the importance Satan gets here. 🤣 End mein toh, we all insert the same disgusting catheters and cannulas. 😆 Even our SRs did not have proper cabins and here an intern has one. Considering the fact that Birlas is a medical college, do they have 100-150 different cabins for interns? 🤣🤣 No wonder they are so freaking rich.

Don’t even get me started on the cabin…even in private super specialty hospitals, interns won’t get a cabin…interns are treated like orderlies…that’s a fact lol
