I read an interesting post on twitter today. Forgot who wrote it, and can't seem to find it when I go back hunting for it. But in a nutshell it said: Malini's problem was never the fact that Aditya fell in love with another woman, it was the fact that the woman Aditya fell in love with was Imlie. Why? Because in some twisted sense it made her like her mother Anu, and Imlie like Meethi.

I remember seeing a clip, of a pre Aryan episode. Here Malini asked Aditya for a promise. That no matter what, they will never let their marriage become one like her parents' (Dev and Anu's). Malini grew up in that dysfunctional and broken family. Her biggest fear was loveless, meaningless marriage like her parent's.

And yet, when it was revealed that she was cheated on. She was obviously shattered, devastated and torn. But she got over it. She braved through and even tried to help Adi_lie. What changed (other than the CV's mind) was Anu's taunts and ramblings hitting the nerve. Anu painted the image in Malini's mind that she is now Anu 2.0 and her half sister. Her father's other daughter is Meethi 2.0.

Just like Meethi robbed Anu of a happy marriage. It is Imlie who robbed Malini of a happy marriage. And Malini started believing that. So, it was less about getting Adi and Adi's love - but more about causing Imlie pain and misery for ruining her life.

That is why it makes complete sense for her to want revenge and continue coming after Imlie.

I'll come back here but agree blue made a post about this. Here also, and twt also (tag her I'm keeping my tag blank)

I've more thoughts on the parallel of Anu-Meethi vs Imlie-malini that could unfold with the upcoming track. Let me formulate something and come back.

Of course it doesn't make sense. This was more of a response to the people that are saying bringin Malini back doesn't make sense but also abt Anu - Meethi and Malini-Imlie parallels

this actually makes sense considering her treatment and opinion of her own child with the man she claimed to want and love more than anything in the world. i was pondering whether it can be safely assumed that she detests AKT as well rn, and this theory answers that question too.

though from Malini’s pov, she couldn’t have known that Imlie was forced to marry Aryan. what she would have reasonably made of the situation from her pov, is that Imlie happily set up a new home with Aryan after wrecking hers with Aditya. therefore, Imlie didn’t expose her out of her concern for the Tripathis or love for Aditya, but to seek personal vengeance from her. this then ties and connects right back to the Anu v Meethi parallel.

Exactly my point

The seed of hatred and the drive for revenge was planted in Malini's mind by Anu. Anu was cheated by her husband with Meethi, but couldn't take any revenge from Meethi. She always thought it Meethi who was at fault, she never considered than even Meethi was a victim of betrayal and it was Dev who played both the women like fiddle.

So when same history repeated with her daughter and Meethi's daughter at the same position, she provoked her own daughter that the Mother-Daughter duo, i.e., Meethi-Imlie are very much alike, whose only purpose is to destroy their, as in, Anu-Malini, happiness.

At first she sympathized Imlie's situation and circumstances. But when parallels were drawn between the two situations Malini's all rational and good quality flew out the window, leaving behind all the negative qualities like hatred, revenge, vengeance, all tied one single person, Imlie.

Ohh what a beautiful topic you have choosen loveji❤ our entire show's beauty has been showing parallels and my i keep falling in love with the show everytime i read these amazing analysis of how CVs present these beautiful parallels and it becomes a full circle making it seem like a beautiful story that is being unfolded not like the same ITV drama crap that is rinsed and repeated in every other show, pls that's my personal opinion no offence.

Also, regarding Anu as a character the most intresting thing about her is she will never let go of her Imlie obsession that's bcz she feels somewhere she is compensating herself for the betrayal she had to face from Dev when Malini tortures Imlie bcz it gives her the satisfction that Malini being her daughter is wreaking havoc in Imlie's life who is Meethi's daughter, she just doesn't care about Malini as her mother in all this making Malini just a tool for her.

Agreed 100% on the fact that Malini blames Imlie for her misery bcz she thinks of herself as Anu 2.0, her latest scenes of hate to villagers is the clear reflection of this fact and this indicates the fact that how intelligently they have crafted this track bcz now AKT is out of picture yet with Aryan being Imlie's husband Malini just cannot digest the fact that Imlie is happy in her life while she lost her everything pushing her into darkness.

People on twitter kept wondering how is Malini relevant in the story with AKT gone but the real reason of her vengeance is her being envious of Imlie, now it has nothing to do with sharing same husband but it's a tale of 2 sisters to uncover. Having said that it makes me wonder whether they will pull a Malini redemption track later or not.
