Ha ha🤣but man they are seasoned writers not like me😆... also in the show I want to see more bonds too... like Samar- Anu always have my heart❤️ Samar - Anuj, Kinjal etc etc... I want to see more heartwarming bonds... not everything needs to be about romance... I watched few scenes between Samar-Anu before Anuj's entry... and I must say I loved them... they were so heartwarming... honestly I would love love to see more of the kids bonding with MaAn❤️.... but oh well...

⚠️Trigger Warning: Mentions medical condition. Emotional update.

She unlocked the door and entered inside. She looked at the clock which showed 4 pm and decided he would still be in office. Thinking of making something for him, she walked to the kitchen but stopped short when she saw the light on and the bathroom door ajar in his room. She quickly walked in to see him bent over the washbasin still in his coat and suit, throwing up. Rushing to his side she quickly rubbed his back and held his arms steadying him. He gulped in deep breaths and turned to see her. His eyes wide and full he tried hard to talk something sensible through his erratic breaths. She kept mumbling prayers as she held him and he turned around to throw up again. A few minutes later, he looked up his breaths much regular than before. She splashed water and helped him clean. Seeing him steady, she helped him out the door and made him sit on the bed. Switching on the air conditioner, she helped him out of his coat and reached out to remove his shirt. He caught her hand and nodded in negative. Barely audible he said

"I will do it..."

She glared at him through the unshed tears.

"Shut up..."

She quickly undid the buttons and removed his shirt. Propping up pillows by the headboard, she made him lean there and poured him a glass of water. He took it from her hand and she turned around to find her phone. She quickly searched for the doctor's number when his voice stopped her.

"If you are calling the doctor, don't... this has nothing to do with my head..."

"How do you know?"

"Because this has happened before too..."

"Meaning..."

"Sit down, Anu... I am better now..."

"Better.... what better... you couldn't breathe... Ok enough talk... let me talk to the doctor now..."

"Not necessary, Anu... it was a panic attack... nothing else..."

"Pa.. Panic attack?"

"Hmmm..."

She sat down by the foot of the bed, her head in a whirl. Trying to gather her thoughts, she asked him

"Why?.... The truth, Anuj... please.."

"I thought you wouldn't come back..."

"I promised I would... didn't I?"

He looked down unable to meet her gaze.

"Anuj?"

"I already lost you to that house once... everytime you go, I... I get memories of the first time... and it happens.... just like it happened then"

"You got a panic attack the time I got married."

He nodded and she covered her face with her palms and let the tears that she had held back from the time she saw him bent over flow. He moved towards her and held her in his hands. Not feeling strong enough after the episode, he leant forward and rested his head on her back.

"It's okay, Anu... I am ok..."

She shook her head and spoke through her tears.

"26 years back I didn't know you... but now... now it's not ok... not ok at all... why... how?"

He softly rubbed her back.

"Why Anuj... why? You asked me to let you fight my battles with me... why don't you let me do the same for you? Why should you suffer alone? Why... why couldn't you tell me not to go?"

"I did try to stop you..."

"But you didn't... you told me everything about that house... but you never told me what it meant to you..."

"I couldn't... I couldn't 26 years back and I couldn't today..."

"Why?"

He pulled back held her shoulders and made her face him. Cupping her cheek, he said

"You know why..."

She pushed his hand away.

"I don't... I really don't..."

"Anu...?"

"26 years ago... I can understand... I didn't belong to you... but now... I am yours... all yours... couldn't you have said 'Anu, it hurts me if you go'... had you told that I never would have gone there and I did promise that I would come back... yet you couldn't believe me..."

"I can't stop you because of me..."

"Why not?"

"Anu..."

"What Anu, Anu... you always keep saying 'my Anu'... 'mine'... 'my very own'... are all those just words?"

"You know it's not..."

"If you really did believe it... then what is making you so afraid... all these days I was so happy that you considered me yours... now you get panic attack because you thought I belong there... How?"

"Anu... it's not..."

"Not what, Anuj? I belong to you... all of this is yours... How do I make you believe it... I..."

She clutched his vest and pulled him close to her, raising her head she planted her lips firmly on his and kissed him. The kiss was rough and demanding from her side and he surrendered himself to her. As they parted for breath she moved back looking at his swollen lips.

"Do you believe at least now?"

He leaned back on the headboard and pulled her towards him. As her head hit his chest, he placed a soft kiss on her hair. They sat there in contented silence. His soft breaths caressing her face, she let her hand roam over his bare arms feeling the toned muscles with her palms and let out a sigh of pleasure. He smiled.

"You do love my arms don't you, Mohatarma..."

"I love all of you, Bholuram..."

He felt his heart race and his breath hitch. He felt his eyes fill up and she looked up at him. Seeing his tears, she moved away a little scared.

"Are you ok? Is it... is it coming again?"

"No no....no..."

"Then... what.."

"This is the first time you said that you loved me..."

She looked surprised.

"But didn't you know that..."

"I did... I did... but hearing those words I have so longed for... it's just..."

He pulled her back to him again. Nuzzling his nose against her ear, he said

"Say it again..."

His lips teasing her ears, she felt her cheeks color up rapidly. The throb down under intensified as warmth flooded her body. She opened her mouth to say what he wanted but words failed her. She moaned his name as she felt his tongue touch her ear.

"Anujjjj...."

"Mmmmm..."

His lips had moved lower to her jaw

"I..."

"Mmmm"

Still lower

"Lovvv..."

"Mmmmm..."

Lower again

"Youuuu.."

He tilted her chin and rewarded her with a kiss.

The sound of the door opening brought them to reality. She released herself from his embrace and got up. Adjusting her saree pleats and setting her hair, she said

"It must be Kaka... let me go and make tea for him..."

He got up and took his shirt.

"Let me come with you..."

"No no... take rest... I can manage..."

"Mohatarma, sitting beside you in the kitchen is the best rest that I can ever get..."

"You know... nowadays I feel I waste my time asking you to do things..."

"You should try asking for things that I would do.... like this..."

He leaned forward and pecked her cheek. She giggled and playfully slapped him.

"Let me go and see Kaka..."

He followed her out.

As they entered the living room, they saw Kaka sitting on the couch his face on his palms. Sensing his unease, they ran towards him and knelt before him.

"Mummy..."

"Kaka..."

He looked up and his eyes held an unexplained emotion. They were happy yet sad, peaceful yet tormented. Looking at their questioning gaze, he whispered

"She loved me..."

"Sweetheart?"

He nodded and opened his bag to take out a leather box. He placed them in Anuj's hands.

"Aarav found these addressed to me after she passed away. He gave it to me today... open it"

He opened it to see a sheaf of papers inside.

"Kaka... what are these..."

"Letters... she had written to me but never sent... never once... if only she had..."

He gave a sigh and looked at Anuj.

"Anuj, beta... I want you to do something for me... would you?"

"Mummy... you know I would do anything for you..."

"All the years I spent with her, I never asked her about Aarav's father, never thought about asking. When I met her at Mukku's birthday party, she said he was her son and I didn't feel the need to ask more.... but now... I want to know who that man was...."

"Who?"

GK took the letters back and shifted through it. He found the one he was searching for.

"Here read this...."

Anuj opened the letter GK gave him and read out loud.

'My ever dearest Gopi,

Today when Aarav threw a tantrum because you didn't get him the mangoes he asked for, you dropped to your knees and calmed him down. You were calm yet stern.... you didn't raise your hand yet made him obey you. Just like a father would. You know you have never asked me who his father is. The entire world points it fingers at me, throws insults yet you... you truly care for both of us.... never asking for anything in return. How... how can you be so? Maybe that is why I am so in love with you. You deserve to know the truth. I really don't have the courage to stand in front of you and tell it but I can definitely write it here. Someday, maybe I maybe able to give this to you.

I was only 19 when he came to our village. He said he was a businessman and impressed my parents. He asked them for my hand and they agreed happily. Within a week we were married and he left me the day after the wedding night. He promised he would come back with the proper marriage certificate to take me with him but he never did. A few months later I found I was pregnant and I was so scared. My parents had already decided that the man won't come back. I knew if I stayed they wouldn't let me have the baby. Taking all that I had and some jewelry and cash, I ran away that night. Luckily we found a woman's NGO in Ahmedabad and stayed there. I learnt sewing and pot making there and started the small business that I now own. After Aarav's birth, I worked hard enough to save up the money and that's how we got here.

You know I never really knew who my husband was. He said his name was Anil Malik. I don't even know if his name is real. I never really loved any man but you. You were, are and will be the only one. I wish I could tell this out loud to you but... legal or not, I am still married to that man. If only I could find him and ask him to free me... Maybe... maybe then I could tell you what I really feel about you. I have been searching for him but I have not found a single clue. Oh how difficult it is to see your charming smile and turn away from you.

I love you, Gopi.

Yours... Always,

Aditi'

As Anuj completed reading the letter, GK sighed.

"She never even gave a clue. Not even a hint... if only she had..."

Anu clutched his hand and nodded her head understanding his pain. Anuj took in a deep breath.

"Mummy... tell me what I should do..."

"Find the boy's father... the least I could do now for her is give her search a closure."

"Shouldn't we talk to him before that?"

GK thought for sometime.

"We should... but what if the man is bad and refuses to see him. It would break him. No, Anuj, find him first, let me talk to him then we can let Aarav meet him."

"I don't feel good about this, Mummy... Anu?"

"He is right Kaka, let's talk to him. We have already had enough misunderstandings because of lack of communication. I think we need to tell Mukku too. She deserves to know."

GK sat quietly as Anu stood up and took her phone to call Mukku and Anuj rang up Aarav, his soul far away from the common world. His eyes and ears recollecting the memory of the woman he had loved so long. He had never forgotten her but today the revelations made her memory even more dearer to him. His Aditi... How proudly he could say that... She loved him... he loved her too.... they couldn't be together... but he promised to himself that he would keep their love alive as long as he had breath.

"V, that woman came and created a drama today."

"What did she do?"

Kavya related the days events to a fuming Vanraj.

"That woman needs a lesson and I am going to give it to her."

Kavya nodded her head.

"Yes she does... but what about the business V? You promised me that you would get it soon enough... I don't see any progress..."

"The kid sister is behaving too much like an adult nowadays... I am not able to get things done..."

"Do something, V..."

"I would have if I could... I believe that woman has some hand in Mukku behaving so off lately... I will have my revenge."

"But you just said you couldn't..."

"I can't take over the business in any way... but I can take over the woman behind them all... and make the business come to me..."

"But, how..."

He gave a sly smile.

"I know her inside out... I know where exactly to prick to make her fall. She will pay."

"I am home...Bhabhiiiii..."

"Hi..."

"You?"

"Yup... me"

"What are you doing here?"

"Coach called me over... said something important...."

Anu had called her and said the same she wondered what it was.

"Mukkudi..."

"Bhabhi..."

"Sit... let me call Kaka... Anuj is bringing dinner here. We wanted to talk to you."

Anuj entered with the dinner tray.

"What is it, Coach?"

"Let GK come..."

"Is it about the box?"

"Yes..."

"What box?"

"I found a leather box addressed to GK in mom's personal belongings. I gave them to him today. What was in it, Coach?"

"The truth..."

"Truth?"

GK walked towards Aarav and sat down beside him.

"Aarav... your mother and I were not just best friends, I learnt to love her over time. I never told her that... not once. After she passed away I buried my love and moved on for these kids... but today... these letters... she loved me too, beta..."

"But... but..."

"Here see..."

He showed him a letter which held her love for him in a few words. It was dated a few days before her death.

###

'My ever dearest Gopi,

The moon is streaming into my room tonight brightening everything it's light is touching. Everything except me because my light is far away from me. You... you are my light Gopi... and you are so far away. I know I have no right... but tonight, I want to see your warm smile one more time... just one more time. The medications make my brain fuzzy. I often end up dreaming you beside my bed whispering that you love me just as much as I do... then I wake up. Today I saw the doctor shake his head when Aarav asked him about my progress. I know my time here is limited... you know what I wish for? I wish when I sleep for the last time, just like always you would come in front of my eyes, tell me how much you love me and take me in your arms. I would never want to wake up for then... I would be

Truly and forever yours as always,

Aditi.'

###

All 5 pairs of eyes were wet as Aarav ended reading the letter. He looked at GK and he nodded.

"Mom... I never knew..."

"Neither did I... she hid it so well... but I wouldn't blame her, I did it too."

Aarav said nothing. He shivered a little as the memory of his dear mother's face flashed before his eyes. How much pain and longing had she hidden behind her smile? Mukku moved closer to him and took his hand in his and squeezed it tight. GK looked at them and a lone tear made Its way down his cheek. Anuj looked at the trembling figure of the old man and spoke up.

"Aarav... there is something important we want to talk to you..."

"What?"

"What do you know about your father, Aarav?"

"Father?"

GK placed his hand on his shoulder.

"Yes... did Aditi ever mention anything about him to you...?"

"Uh... I never asked because the mention of a father always made her eyes fill up and since everyone around taunted her, I never wanted to add to her pain. But... few days before she passed away, she told me all about him. She said his name was Anil Malik and he was a big businessman from Maharashtra."

"You tried to find him?"

"I did... there is no businessman with a registered business named Anil Malik from Maharashtra... I got the news from a private detective I hired after her death."

"Maybe he lied about his name...."

"Maybe... but Coach, right now... with you people by my side, I really don't want him anymore. I just want you all..."

GK interrupted.

"But... Aarav beta, you would have a family..."

"I already have one... I don't want a new one..."

Anuj looked at his bent head and shook his head. A moment from the past replayed in his head.

^^^^

"Coach... I am afraid that someday someone will come and say he is my father and take me away from here."

"Why Aarav? Don't you want to see your father?"

"No... he didn't come till now. What if he is bad?"

"Maybe he is good..."

"Either way I don't want to see him. You people have been there for me so long and you are enough... I can't bear if he takes me away and breaks this little world we have created for ourselves here... me and mom..."

^^^^

He looked at him and in front of him sat the 12 year old Aarav instead of the 35 year old man and he understood. He understood his fear.

"Aarav..."

"Coach..."

"Do you trust me?"

"Yes... what does that have to do with..."

"Then trust me... we are not going anywhere... neither are you... we will always be together... I promise... let me search for that man. The least we can do to honor your mom's memory."

"What if it tarnishes it?"

"All her life, she searched for him without opening her mouth though she was taunted time again because he was missing. Finding him would finally end her search and give some rest to your troubled mind too. Whatever it is... it is definitely better than this nagging doubt... don't you think so, Aarav?"

He thought for a while before turning around to Mukku.

"What if he turns out to be a criminal? Would I still have you by my side?"

She looked into his eyes and nodded.

"Always..."

"Okay then... Coach... let's find him..."

Anuj nodded and turned to Anu his eyes conveying her the doubt and fear he truly felt. She squeezed her eyes shut and nodded reassuringly. It would be alright.
