I think that's what the popularity algorithm intended to do.

Yes, I admit to have the same logic behind popular fictions. I think it depends on Stars/Subscribers.

But from what I remember, Recently there had been an update in the fan fiction site that included the people who liked the book in the thread/forum to become a subscriber in fanfiction site if migrated.

Because my subscribers increased on the books I migrated. My problem is that a like from the fan fictions posted in Forums turns into subscribers in Fan Fiction site, but even then certain books doesn't get the stars as others.

As you can see from the screen shot, some books even when migrated didn't get the subscribers as others. The most viewed books in Fanfiction site got only 12 stars even when the book is migrated from the forum.

While I don't understand the reason behind this discrepancies. I faced a similar issue with views for my books as well. It had been the reason I suggested that popularity should be based on the month activity instead.

We already have Mostly Viewed, so popular should at least be determined based on short time frame.

Please help me with the different types which needs to be added. We will make the necessary changes.

Just see that it should not be a overlapping one.

I guess the types selected are more for Length of the story.

Seems like the type feature cannot cover whether its Original or not. We will add a checkbox for authors to highlight its an Original or FanFiction.

This feature is already there, Vijay. See--

While adding Tags, we can add Original Fiction or Fanfiction to highlight the content / type feature. It is already there. Please check this Vijay,

The terminologies are based on the number of words. It is applicable to various categories like fan fiction, original fiction, non-fiction etc. So whoever wishes to highlight that may do that in the tags section. It will be considered as a genre rather than the length of the story. I hope that makes sense now?

Would it be okay if not only the G-Rated but also the other FanFictions were open for both IF members and non-members?

Even before joining IF, I used to search for FFs on my favorite shows, and more than often the search engine directed me to threads made in IF.

We already had an option to keep our stories open to all or member-specific.

The rating system along with the disclaimer is undoubtedly a great addition since readers will have an idea about the plot. But when a 13+ IF member can have access to an M-Rated story why can't a general reader have that? I know, I would love to have that option as a reader.

Please reconsider this option. 😊

G sand M fan fictions Are available for non-logged in users unless the author has decided to keep it Members Only.

The reason why we insist on readers to login/register:

- So that they can leave comments / feedback for the story. This encourages the author to write more.

- Reader can easily follow a story and get notification when there is a new chapter.

- they can follow the author to be notified when there is a new story published by the author.

- Reader can even view R graded story if their age permits.

- If you notice several sites they follow similar practice and insist on readers to register.

login / register is free and easy. So what’s the harm in doing so?

Vijay, all the below-mentioned books belong to Poems category. Still, that 'Refine by Types' is showing only 2 poem books. That is the 1 st issue there

It is showing only the first two poems' books only.

Now the second issue is --- it is an FF not a collection of poems.

Currently there is a limit to tag 3 Beta readers per FanFiction.

Can we have an author's note box at the end of every chapter like its available on a site called fanfiction.net

As an author I like to share my thoughts about every chapter that I write, include dedications, festive wishes etc which is unique to every chapter.

Yes, an optional field. Of course, writers can include authors note in the chapter itself but if we are providing one at the main page, I feel it can be better if provided for each chapter. Also in case there's a word limit to chapters, it would be great to separate the things out, so word limit is not exceeded due to authors word. On forum topics, we just reserve the next post and use it for the note, likewise I think it could be a good idea to have a separate section at the end of every chapter to maintain the feel of the site.

Like I had said in the site issues thread, the formatting is not maintained in the summary and authors note, which is not a pleasant appearance. For example I write:

With Love,

Shri

At the end of every chapter, as author's note. If I write this in the authors note section provided, it will simply show,

With Love, Shri

Which is not something I, as an author, want.
