I was eyerolling at that and thinking "wait, girl till you have problems and he dumps you" -- I don't understand why these dramas are acting like such such momma devotion is healthy or normal. in that case, why get married? is a wife just for sex and producing babies? isn't it normal for a man to get married and be more attached to his wife? a parent child relationship should evolve -- if it remains stunted, that is a problem.

She wasn't wrong if we talk about logic. To adjust between mom and wife, both should be at least normal. Naima is ready to sleep in kabristan if you don't follow her order. Ushna can never go to Naima's level, so better choose mommy.

In Naima's case, wife is just for baby production. She wanted Shehroz and Zunaisha to get married soon so that she can play with his babies. Who makes babies as a goal before marriage? I think she wanted same from Ushna, but 'the khandani keeda' inside her would not let her accept khandan Ka Chirag coming from daughter of a dancer- not so naik woman...

I also liked how this issue of older woman , younger guy was dealt in the show. She was independent, she left her husband, took care of her mom in law. And also supported her sister in law. And chooses to be with the guy who loved her.

It's understandable that Rabia never saw umair in a romantic way since they lived under the same roof and she basically raised him. It's also understandable why umair was blindly in love with her and he didn't care about the 4yr age gap which i personally feel is not that big of an age gap. The more important thing was the equation they shared.

Everything rabia did in the latter second half of the show was amazing. She literally stopped giving a flying duck about what other people might think.

to give you the context to the lack of financial independence, there are plenty of aunties as well as young women who completely leave the finances to their husbands. it is not about control but rather because they love him and trust him completely. they also are not comfortable with handling finances on their own. now, there is love but there is also brain right? during difficulties these things come up.

at one point, our lockdown during the pandemic was so strict that we couldn't even get out 2 kms from our neighbourhood. we needed a police clearance certificate to travel and we had to shop and do all activities within our own neighbourhood.

heard of this story of this aunty -- the uncle had to be hospitalized. now mind you, this is a well-off family but she had never handled the finances. so she didn't even have a bank account to her name and neither was she a joint signature. the kids were living in a different city and the relatives were outside that 2 km. there is a limit to how much you can swipe on the card. it became this enormous struggle to get her the cash for the hospital. this is not isolated story but happens often.

also many families think the kids will be their retirement plan and don't save up. this leads to cases of elder abuse and elder abandonment etc. so it is complicated societal issues here because there is no government safety net.

the other component is the lack of emotional independence as well. for example. naima obviously had some sort of friends and life. why didn't she maintain that? yes, she is disabled but she could have kept with her kitty parties, called friends over, etc. by isolating herself, she made herself more dependent on shehroze. now, she sees zainab and ushna as threats rather than as additions to the family.

see, I watched ZGH with my mom and it was really interesting to watch a drama with her. in regards to your comment, she would say something like most men are like that and it is about their ego. basically it is not about control but rather ego here. if it was about control, it would look very very different. whereas with ego, it is a different game. in the perspective of my mom and aunts, women need to be street smart and figure out how to deal with ego whether it is in office or at home. that is unavoidable. smiley36

their view -- control leads to abuse whereas ego is just something they need to work around with and is more of an irritation and annoyance. smiley36

also my mom and aunts don't even think progressive characters are possible -- from their view, all men are bound to be a bit idiotic at some point. no escape!!!! 😂

I do love zgh and it's my all time too favourite dramas and not just in pak dramas.

I also like zaroon and kasaf as a couple but i dont think zaroon is a perfect guy that people make him out to be. That's all.

I guess, she did feel weird when he did not notice earring thing and was about bracelet. She even was smiling looking at him when he was adjusting the bracelet . 😆

Also when he talked about rest , she did not want that , but she could not say it directly ,so said aise hi 😆

there are many dramas in itv where they show the guy remove the jewelry from the girl and we viewers pretty much self-combust. it is so hot and thats all they show. smiley37smiley37smiley37 ... but yea, maybe that is too much for ptv.

but yea, it did seem like a huge hint when she said "so I will remove my earrings now?" and he just nodded. 😂

see, my view is that perfect character is a myth. there is no perfect guy as no human is without flaw. we all have pluses and minuses. so how can a fictional character be anything but flawed. obviously there is a good range of acceptable flaws and a bad stalker range of criminal flaws.
