šŸIndian Women Vs SriLankan Women - 3rd T20I DambullašŸ

Image

The Indian team clinched the three-match T20I series after a comprehensive victory in the second T20I at Dambulla. The Sri Lankan team once again faltered with the bat as they put a modest total of 125 runs on the board after winning the toss and electing to bat first. India chased the total down with five wickets in hand.

The morale in the Sri Lankan dressing room will be quite low after a damaging series loss against India. They have got the batters to blame as they failed to put the opposition under pressure for a sustained period. The bowlers did put a spirited fight but it wasn’t enough in the end. The management won’t be making any changes as they would like to give the players one more go before the ODI series.

Pitch and conditions:

The surface at the Rangiri Dambulla was expected to assist the spinners, and it did that. However, the pitch wasn’t that tough to bat on, as some of the players from the Indian camp showed. It will be the third consecutive match to be played here, and there won’t be much change in the surface. Teams will look to bat first and put a decent total on the board for the opposition to chase.

Good afternoon! Sri Lanka had India in a spot of bother in thr first game and then fought to take the game deep in the second. They have failed grab those key moments to properly seize advantage. It's the batting unit that has had collapses. Can they buck up today and get over the line? India would be keen to convert the starts into a big score as they look for a clean sweep.

Thoughts from the captains.

"We are able to do whatever we are deciding," says Harmanpreet, India captain. "We are only lacking in the batting partnerships."

"We were going bowl first anyway," says Chamari Athapaththu, Sri Lanka captain. "We trust our top-order batters but we were 20 runs with the short in the previous game. 140 should be a good score to chase."
