It is Mai who stands unsure how Apurva and Shashank will live together as they are constantly fighting and Dada-Kaka gives her an example that this is the same Apurva who had said that she won't touch the feet of the people she doesn't know when she had met them jn Sumi's wedding and look at her now - how sincerely she is trying to take care of everyone's wishes. He was basically just making Mai see how Apurva and Shashank will have a just fine married life despite the huge difference in thsir personalities.

Also Dada-Kaka also says that - Appu will get the first class. That's my responsibility. But even after she gets one - she won't be going anywhere leaving our house. No matter what. She will always stay with us. I give you my word.❤️

Ye to maine dekha bhi nahi tha. I started watching from the hug like I mentioned before also.😆.I know what happened in the episodes though... in brief but not detailed. I seriously need to find time to watch all the previous episodes. ❤️

He didn't say that he made her bow down or anything. He was just talking about how the girl who refused to touch their feet during Sumi's wedding now did it of her own accord to get their blessings. He wasn't talking about bending her to his wishes but more about how Appu would gradually blend into their family and learn some good things along the way.

As far as conservative goes, there's a huge difference between being conservative and being traditional. K family is definitely traditional for sure, but they are not conservative. They follows the festivals and fasts, but they don't force their DILs to do the same. If they were a conservative family, they could never accept a DIL that couldn't cook or do household chores or wakes up late. And they most definitely would not have accepted the girl even suggesting such a thing as a contract marriage or breaking the marriage before they were even married!

Like I was saying earlier, I did watch bits and pieces of the other remakes too and every single one of them had the FL wearing Kurtas or salwars after marriage for the most part, TR is the only one where FL still daily wears above-knee length dresses (that honestly, even I as someone who grew up in US since 8 years old would feel a little awkward to wear in front of in-laws). Actually, Tamil version has a few episodes talking about how FL was wearing short clothes after marriage and the Mai in that didn't like it at all.

Him blackmailing Shashank into marrying though was wrong. I agree with that but so was Dr.K in that aspect and they felt they were doing it for their kids sake. And DK comments during that convo about how the guy that refused so much is now enjoying the functions wholeheartedly and that's why he knew that his tactics might be wrong but it will be good for Shashank in the end!

Just my point of view! No offense meant to anyone! Everyone has their own definition of conservative and traditional and right vs. wrong...esp when it comes to Indian parenting. 🤗

Haha..if nothing watch the Diwali episode and all the episodes of the wedding sequence from cultural night on to the reception...each one is sooo beautiful they just make you smile!

One of my favorites from whar I have watched is the one where Appu and Babi Aatya both break down and Appu asks if she can address her as Aai. 💔😭😵

I watched the fever episodes the other day

That thamb na has my heart, Ishqi. For real. I watched only that particular moment five times. 😆❤️

That whole breakdown was soo touching...like you could feel both of their pain so much...and everybody around could see Appu's pain too. ❤️

And Shashank's cunning condition and him shaking his head smiling slyly! ❤️ That was so cute!

One of my fav scenes in those episodes is how Appu stops him again when he tries to leave after the gang comes here...and her stupid explanation about how he would end up fighting with some random person if he went alone...Appu's "You never know" and Kukki's "I know" cracked me up! 🤣 And poor Shashank is like I know you guys just need a bakra to make fun of right now so fine go ahead! 🤣
