The amount of divorce talks and divorces i have seen in pak dramas is way higher than any other language dramas and i have seen Hindi, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Turkish, American and European series and dramas 😬

Yes Indian saas likes to keep they DIL in the house so they can abuse them lol 😂 my very first ITV series was that cry baby Gopi my mum made me watch it and I hated that show. Aham was ahem and a bore wearing lose shiny suits.

But yes in PTV divorce is thrown around a lot I noticed it too. I personally don’t watch any two wives show this is my first one but at least it’s with mature couple and one is mad so technically it’s just one wife. I don’t like it and I respect culture but not my cup of tea so I stay away. My favourite was Rang Badalti Odani very good actors and MIL was real. She was mean to DIL but not to toxic level and once son fell in love with wife she accepted her and backed off completely and in fact sided with DIL. Then dad kicked the son out as he was not working and couple left but they were very romantic, they even showed their healthy married life including physical intimacy. I loved it as it was so real. Two young people fell in love and faced their troubles together it was brilliant. It had karan tacker in it.

Danish is a good actor but after Deewangi, he is sticking to such roles. Hope, hope he start doing different ones but his stalker roles get more ratings and views 😳

Good actors kind of make these kind of characters more likeable and popular. Remember Darr. Srk was signed on as the villain and he was a villain from start to the end but somehow everyone just fell in love with him instead of sunny deol's character. It's not even like the director tried to show him as a hero or tried to justify his actions.

Danish is a good actor and is very good looking and has that swag. So when he plays these kind of roles people get attracted towards that character. I guess deewangi was highly inspired by Darr.

He wanted to leave with Ushna, should have. He can have his own baccha and Naima can pressure Wahab to give her another bacha she can torture, so this time a pre menopausal biwi 😂😂😂😂

I said this in my post couple of days ago that good actors make these kind of role likeable. Personally, I hate the glorification of toxic love and stalking. I don’t like it. SRK in Darr and Anjam I loved to hate him. Sami khan does them very well too. Watch khudgarz if you get time he was amazing in it. This Romeo is a good guy there but his acting sucks there too but he isn’t that much and again doesn’t talk much so that’s good.

the best way to kind of explain the whole culture of mothers latching onto their sons for emotional support and having an unhealthy controlling relationship would be how dev and ishwari's relationship is explored in much rang pyar ke raise bhi season 1.

a lot of women in at least Pakistan live in repressive households that only prioritize marriages, with emotionally unavailable or emotionally stunted husbands, and they tend to latch onto their sons for that support. it's quite common and although in an average household in Pakistan, things won't reach to the point of a mother telling their son to divorce, which is what we see on-screen, we do get microaggressive things happening in households where the elder sisters and mother tend to try to pit themselves against the wives. I think in general this is the result of larger socioeconomic landscape where since the 70s, women have been forced in more restrictive gendered roles under the guise of religion whereas India didn't necessarily go through the extreme amount of fundamentalism enforced in it's public institutions because india's democracy has avoided military coups. but that aside,

the controlling mothers living through their son because of helplessness in one form or another is somewhat of a common occurrence. because pakistani soaps aren't as long, I think none have ever been able to deal with this dynamic the way much rang pyar ke raise bhi dealt with the ishwari-dev relationship.

i personally feel that there are more mothers resembling naema and raisa's extremities IRL then zainab. i just wish that instead of chalking stuff up to stereotypes, this story dealt with such dynamics with nuance because it could've been a steller commentary on how need for control through either greed, or actions creates women like raisa or naema

I didn't watch today's episode. i really signed up for the show because of chemistry between anmol and usama, and even though the family drama was brash from day one, it was more tolerable writing then it is now.

I am extremely proud of the fact that I never saw a single episode of Gopi bahu drama or yeh rista kya kehlata hai.

I remember the name rang badalti odani but cannot remeber who all were in it. Was that on star one?

One thing i like about Hindi serials is that when the leads have chemistry it's crackling and absolute treat to watch.

Zgh was my first pak drama and I didn't even knew Pakistan makes dramas. Before that I have only seen Hindi serials and American series, both in which they show it clearly if the couple's consummate their relationship or not. I didn't know that pak dramas never show anything more than hand holding and at max a hug. So when kasaf said she was pregnant in one episode i though I missed an episode where they consummated the marriage. I was crazily searching for that episode and it took me a while to get used to it 🤣

Unfortunately I am not that lucky I even watched kyun ki saas as well back when ekta was on a K spree lol 😂 my mother used to watch it and I had to with her until I put my foot down and said no.

My first PTV series was Humsafar and honestly I did not like it. Then second was Gusthak Ishq and loved Zahid Ahmed in that. Iqra was FL and bit annoying but there they hugged few times. I was also under the same impression that why aren’t they hugging or touching each other. They love each other and how come she is pregnant, what did I miss lol 😂 but then I realised it’s taboo there. Arnav and khushi were always touching or hugging, same with aman and roshni. But I love PTV because it ends I like that rather than watching 10000 episodes where 1000 just shows facial expressions 😂😂😂😂

I watched darr after i became a die hard srk fan and at an age were i didn't really understand all these stalking and toxic relationships so i hated sunny deol and even juhi's character when they killed srk🤣. I watched Darr when srk was already a superstar and loved by millions but when i think about it now i don't know how people at that time loved srk's character. He wasn't the king khan back when Darr released and sunny deol was a much bigger star. He was just a newcomer with average cute looks but still managed to be loved by everyone.

Even in baazigar i cared more about srk kajol not ending up together than him mercilessly killing Shilpa Shetty 🤣
