I am so so done with these yesteryear actors - the others in queue will be Poonam Dhillon, Padmini Kolhapure, Jeetendra, Anita Raj, Asha Parekh, and the Deols 🙄😳.
And the poor kids are made to jump & shout & give a rousing welcome. They are several generations down the lane & are asked to fake excitement, ( last weekend was liberally sprinkled with the same footage of Aruna Das cheering 😃) At least they are not asked to start a query with “ ma’m/sir, mein aapka badaaa fan hoon” etc… 😃

Bring some new guests which the kids can relate to at least. And in the process we will get some variety.

They can at least bring in some who are connected with the music industry at least. No not Sanu and Udit again and again. Pyarelal I can manage I think, but just about.
They used to get Jubin every year to sing a few lines. But I think he may be beyond their "had been" budget now 🤣

The other problem with the season is the lack of great talent. After so many episodes it is hard to find anyone here swearing by the talent of any particular kid. Most seem to like some singers on some days, and some more than the others. But that seems to be about it. That usually signals that the kids are average this season and Captains are holding things in a balance.
Maybe wrong, but that is what I feel at the halfway stage.

I don’t understand the logic / rationale here. It’s not as if these yesteryear actors are going to fetch more eye-balls. On the other hand, theme-based episodes will rock. Ppl will look forward to watch episodes on Quawwali , Sufi, comedy, horror, friendship etc..

Even if they get guests for promotions, they can still be accommodated within the format. But what am I blabbering! TCT & Format??! 😳😃. Pipe dream 🤣

Yes, Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal have more or less ruled out "Bollywood" reality shows - they are still active on regional shows.

Can we all just collectively manifest this to happen? 😒 I don't think the content team has any plans for episodes with newer songs. We got the grand premier and that was pretty much it.

I sincerely hope there won't be more Poonam/Padmini/Moushumi/Tanuja/Jackie etceteras.. Had enough of them in SD4, can't take the same here

But unless the guests sponsor the episode themselves to stay relevant instead of the show paying them, I don't underatand the necessity of guests either. There is so much creative scope for a kids singing reality show - make it theme based, make duets, duels, battles, add some fun antakshari type elements. It would make iTV so much fun. I've had enough of bored-looking kids trying to show enthusiasm for guests they never knew about

What went wrong with Shreya? Don't remember hearing about any controversial statements from her.

She was one of the original group which fought for singers' copyrights to their work. Right now, as I understand, singers pay the film producers for singing even their own songs in concerts. Sonu Nigam. Shreya Ghoshal were among the original group that raised this issue. Then both got sidelined. You might have noticed that in the last 3 or 4 years they have done very little work in Hindi films as compared to the volume they used to do earlier. So they had to increaese their work in regional movies.

Agreed. The kids are very average from the performances we have seen. But I would put part of the blame on TCT for it. Because it's not for the lack of talent. So many of the contestants have huge potential. But all the kids are stereotyped into singing particular type of songs only. This is restricting them. Plus, I genuinely feel like the kids themselves are bored. For some reason, I don't see much enthusiasm from their side.

But I also don't find anybody with an exceptionally notable voice. Apart from Faiz, and maybe Sayisha, everyone else has a forgettable voice imo. All other girls pretty much sound the same. If we look at II12, PD, Aru, Sayli, Nihal, SMP, Nachiket, Ashish, Sawai.... it was such a versatile line up of contestants, which is missing this season.
