Don't get excited! It's not the full story yet! Just a short preview into what I started, maybe about 1/5 of the full story?...I don't want to split it into parts cuz that will ruin the flow and effect of reading it so this will end up being a very long one shot! 😆

Mingle in the Jungle? (title under construction )
Setting: Starting from the near-kiss with tiny changes depending on perspective, but everything else is the same as in the show.
Shashank didn’t know if this was the right move or not but he wanted to take the chance anyway. As he cupped her face, he kept staring into her eyes to see if she was uncomfortable. He thought there might have been some hesitation there instead, so his eyes flickered between her own eyes and her round lips. He gave her a moment to pull back but when he found no resistance, he slowly leaned in and his eyes closed on their own accord. The air was thick with tension and anticipation waiting for that moment.
Shashank was trying to build up the courage to take that last leap when he heard a loud hissing close by. His eyes snapped open to see what looked like a black snake coiling itself around the trunk of a tree behind Apurva. He quickly pulled her towards himself and caged her in his arms. The jerk was enough to pull Appu out of her stupor but before she could voice anything, Shashank signaled her to look behind her. She nearly screamed but his hand blocked her scream and he immediately grabbed her arm and ran the opposite direction. They didn’t stop running for a good two minutes when Appu stopped midway out of tiredness.
“Khadus, mujhse aur nahin hoga!”, Appu cried as she leaned against a leaned a tree stump. “Main aur nahin bhaag sakthi. Main bahut tak gayi hun. Aur mujhe bhook bhi lag rahi hai! Aur pata nahin yeha kya kya hai, Ab tak toh sirf saap dekha, agar koi sher ya baloo aya tho? Khadus, mujhe ghar jaana hai please!”
Shashank sighed strongly as he looked at her. He knew that she wasn’t used to all these and had indeed grown up with many luxuries. But right now, they had no choice but to make the best of the situation until they could find a way out of here.
He gently grabs her hands, consoling her, “I know, tume bahut darr lag raha hai aur bahut tired bhi ho. Lekin bahut raat hogayi hai aur yeh jaga mujhe safe nahin lag raha hai. Ek kaam karte hai, thodi dher aur chalte hai aur koi na koi spot dund lenge jaha hum aaj raat keliye rest karsake ok?
“Aur chalna hai? Mujhse nahin hoga Khadus! Mein- ” Appu stops in between as a brilliant idea strikes her mind. “Ok Khadus, mein chalungi par on one condition.”
“Kya condition hai tumhara?”
“Tum apni aankhein band karo pehle aur mein tume jaha lekar jaao tume chalna hoga!”
“Kya? Kya karne wali ho tum? Pehle batao toh sahi.”
“Nahin! Mai kuch nahin bolungi! Tum apni aankhein band karo and chalo!”
Shashank gives up knowing he can’t win with her stubbornness and does as she says. Once his eyes were closed, he could feel Apurva lead him around the forest floor and stop him somewhere. He was about to open his eyes when he heard her yell at him to keep his eyes closed. He waited a moment to see what she was going to do but when he neither heard nor felt anything, he started to get worried. “Apurva, tum kya kar rahi ho? Dekho, agar tumne mujhe answer nahin kiya toh mein apni aankhein khol dungi! Apurva! Main 10 tak count karungi aur agar tum— ”
He knees suddenly buckled as a huge weight was added onto him. He opened his eyes to see that he had been standing in front of a raised tree stump and now had an extra companion on his back!
“Ay Shist! Ye kar kar rahi ho tum?”
“Tumne kaha na, ki mein Makad hu! Toh lo ab mein makad ki tarah hi tumse chipak jaungi! Hum jungle mein hai, mein makad hu, aur tum meri husband toh tum bhi makad hu! Issliye ab tum mujhe ese hi leke chalo!”
He shook his head in wonder at her thought process but gave in to her demands because he knew that she really was tired and partly because he was also enjoying this closeness and comfort between them. Shashank ensured that her arms and legs were securely wrapped around him and held onto her arms with one hand as he used the other to hold up the flashlight on his phone and began to walk forward slowly.
To begin with, Appu was really enjoying her ride. The chance to annoy Khadus like this were rarely found for her and she couldn’t let go of such a chance especially when she was tired. The fact that she could stay close to him this way was just an added bonus. But as they kept walking and the sky thundered around them, the fear slowly started to creep back into her and her body tightened around him.
Shashank felt her tense everytime it thundered and he knew that the novelty of her new form of transportation was slowly wearing off to be replaced by fear and decided to divert her mind until he could find them some safety.
“Apurva, ek baat batao. Tume Mai aur Aai ka haath kha khana bahut pasand hai na?”
“Of course! Kitni tasty khana banate hai, especially Sua Aai! Aur Panna Kaku bhi bahut achi sweets banati hai. Aur phir Manasi Vahini toh kitni baar mujhe khud khana khilati”
He chuckles at her adoration of his family before continuing, “Ha mujhe dikh raha hai voh sab! Aur hamare shaadi ke baad toh tum apni voh gymnastics aur exercise classes bhi chod diya hai na?”
Appu peeks towards his face, confused at his random comments, “Matlab? Khana aur exercise ka kya connection hai?”
He smirks to himself before answering her, “Matlab ab tum khana zyada khati ho aur exercise bilkul bhi nahi karti, issliye toh abhi meri yeh haal hai! Kitni bhaari ho gayi ho tum!”
Appu gasps in outrage and jumps off his back, “Khadus! Tumne mujhe moti kaha?"
"Sirf moti nahin, moti makad!"
"Ab toh main tume chodungi nahin Khadus!”

Yes me too! When she jumped on him in the house, I was like he's strong to not buckle down but then the shirt came off and I was like, ok he's got the muscles to carry her definitely! ☺️🤪
And also what happened to her exercise and calorie conscious diet after the wedding? Hope we see that again at some point. I don't want her to be stuck up but I think BS would loose it if he saw her doing her exercises!!! 😆☺️🤪
