Actually, I think we've had the monologue from Shashank couple times that he doesn't want to get too involved in this marriage because once the year is up and Appu leaves, then he will be left hurting. It happens after gang locks them in the room and right after Babi's failed wedding too when he's left alone thinking outside while the whole family was in the room with Babi. Appu naively puts in the efforts, not to actually maintain the relationship. To her, most of it is because others, mainly gang, tells her to do so, and the rest of it is her subconscious but at the end of the day, she still believes that she is going to leave after the year is up so she's basically making all the memories she can since she doesn't plan to every marry again after. If BS pisses me off with his politeness towards Netra, then Appu makes me just as angry with her boyfriend jaap. I swear, I want to go into the show for a second and slap the both of them for that! 😆

But yes, I agree, we haven't see a major character growth in Shashank yet in terms of becoming less khadus-like. There have been some minor things like slowly understanding Appu and being patient with her but that took a reverse turn with the recent drama. I still have hope that he will be redeemed slowly over the course of the next few tracks. And completely by the time the year is up, otherwise we would not root for them to get back together after the contract/divorce is done.

Let's wait and watch I guess! 🤗

Whatever you said about BS is factually all correct but I do think there has been more to him then just this. BS and Appu personalities just completely opposite. Aside from being her temp husband, BS also is her disciplinarian.

Nonetheless, I agree BS has a long way to go in terms of accepting all there is to Appu and changing himself too. I do have faith that he will because their relationship cannot grow to that unbreakable bond.

Ishqi, I genuinely have no clue how but I somehow just end up finding parallels without even actually trying so I am absolutely not going to take the credit for that.
