From the story perspective , amongst all the youngsters, it is Shehroz who.should be the oldest. In the first episode, Sufiyan'ns mom says that Sufiyan is about to complete the college, Ushna , Sadaf and Ujaifa are already college going students. While Shehroz ,not only had completed his college but also has established a huge empire . So by this logic, Sadaf, Ushna, Ujaifa and Sufiyan should be in early twenties while Shehroz in late twenties. While it is opposite, Shehroz looks lot more younger than Sufiyan. The drama could have been really better if Sufiyan was played by some talented and young actor( I am talking about on -screen age, while some actors are older in real but they look young on-screen.Salman looks way too old .

It is not like actors playing third wheel are always this unbearable but his acting makes it so bad. I recently watched Ishq Jalebi and Mohlat for Usama and in both the dramas , he played the third wheel that too opposite brilliant actors like Sami and Wahaj, and yet his characters were so adorable. Acting matters. Imagine if they had casted a good actor , all those confrontation scenes between Sufiyan and Shehroz would have looked lot better considering the writing of this drama is brilliant. Only feel bad for Usama to become a victim of nepitism as despite being male lead, he is sidelined in getting the needed screentime a male lead should get.

thought of another point that I really enjoy about this drama:

-- the comedy of arranged marriage where neither party is too interested in the other. I love this funny dynamic of the OTP. basically they are not majboor or being forced into anything. it is an arranged marriage where the have agreed of their own free will but they were not excited about it. 😂

in many dramas, one or both of the couples will say yes because they feel they cannot go against the parent. that is what sufiyan is imagined in his head.

instead, we have a completely different setup here -- both shehroze and ushna trust their mother's judgement and ability to discern people. they are both capable of putting their foot down very loudly. but they do have concerns and fears which is rather natural because there is no cloud of love to blind their eyes and give them optimism that everything will work out beautifully.

while shehroze and ushna were initiallly skeptical, they have come around to seeing some merits in the proposal even if they have some doubts. this means they both are quietly smiling at their nikkah. no death stares or "I hate my life" type tears. instead, it is genuinely happy event for all. that dynamic feels fresh and also rather cute. reminds me of kashaf and zaroon from zindagi gulzar hai ❤️

Ah so on point !! And there could not have been better reference than Zaroon and Kashaf to whole of this situation . Thanks for reminding this, Ushna and Shehroz actually are very much like Zaroon and Kashaf, two equals and their wedding took place in somewhat similar situation. Both Ushna and Shehroz , agreed to the marriage willingly, this not at all looked forced. Them smiling after the marriage makes it feel so endearing to watch that how they did not create any unnecessary drama over this and silently said yes to each other and even after them claiming to hate each other, they have started to accept each other. I think , this is something which both Naima and Zainab could see it coming. When Ushna asked Zainab whether Shehroz will love her ever, Zainab was very sure , that he will give her that love she deserves and that we are already seeing.

shehroze -- 29-31. so in his final year of college in london, naima had a stroke. she said when he came back, he was shocked. the stroke itself happened somewhere around 8-10 years ago. so by that timeline, if he graduated at 20-21 and add the years in between, you would get 29-31

sufiyan I thought he was a little older. not exactly sure but I feel like raeesa was bragging that he had finished his MBA or masters or something. mehnaaz was annoyed because huzaifa was not necessarily doing well enough in his studies? but she felt it was unfair comparison because sufiyan was still jobless despite his graduation. so by that count:

sufiyan: maybe mid twenties? 24-25? (lets say he graduated at 21 and then did masters for 2 years and then a year or two loafing?)

huzaifa - 22/23 (doing his masters)

Actually, I rewatched that first episode scene where Sufiyan's mother says Sufiyan is in final semester and once his studies are finished he will join business. Also, in one episode, Sufiyan's friend says that Sufiyan will not get good job as he does not have a degree. While , in the same scene of first episode, Ujaifa's father says , Ujaifa has completed his graduation (mushkil se). From all this , it looks like Sufiyan is even younger to Ujaifa 🤣

Also, I am presuming that whatever business Shehroz has built up , is completely on his own merit . He looks like a man of tremendous self respect with huge ego. It makes me not believe that he had taken money from his father to establish his business after he stopped talking to him. Also, Shehroz looks so proud on himself which shows whatever he has achieved completely on his own. In the first episode, Junainsha who was also his university friend says that Shehroz is very passionate about his work and she has learnt a lot from him. He may have taken funding from friends or did whatever on his own. Also , his office is shown different from Wahab's so they do not work in same company.

I am bringing this point here because it is so ironic that Sufiyan keeps bringing this money aspect when he has to downgrade Shehroz as if all rich guys are rich only because they are born with golden spoon and he wants to make it look like he is a better match than Shehroz as he has more love to give it to Ushna and it is mostly the impression that rich guys are cold hearted and materialistic while middle class people are always are better. That is what mostly we see in dramas usually. While here, both Sufiyan and Hujaifa are not only shown as useless and jobless but also selfish. While Shehroz on the other hand is more empathetic and is focused towards his work. So in all ways , Shehroz was always a better choice than Sufiyan. Even , if he was rude, he was real and never hid behind the mask of goodness.

Omg, Raeesa is so impulsive, she didn't care, she totally went to Zainab and Ushna to unleash all her anger on them. Wahab didn't know, and I doubt he'd be checking up constantly on Sufiyan's status, but she just stupidly went and let the truth out lol.

Loving Mehnaaz and Huzaifa, they are such a thorn on Raeesa and Sadaf's side. Sure they're sarcastic, but they were just pointing out the truth, unlike Raeesa and Sadaf that are constantly spouting lies to suit their twisted narrative. The way Raeesa and Sadaf acts to Mehnaaz and Shujaat, you can really tell that they looked down on them all these years and are so used to bullying them. It's really unfair that just because of age, a older brother's whole family can lord over their younger one's like that.

And what is Sufiyan trying to do? Is he trying to look for Ushna's birth mom or something? He tried to go to that house but the front door was locked. Gosh, he's so annoying, acting like he hates his dad. If he's that prideful then he shouldn't have signed the release paper. That'll show his dad, he'll stay in jail to prove his love.

Shehroz and Ushna are cute, and Shehroz acts like a kid pulling the ponytail of the girl he likes to get her attention. 🤣

Omg, I hope Raeesa's evil prediction never come true and it happens to her own family instead. I wouldn't be able to deal if the three parents are no longer in harmony with each other and their children. 😒
