Anyhow the difference is Ayaan is using VFX for the entire shot, while Rajamouli used it relatively sparsely, while likely being on a lower budget than Rajamouli. Ayaan should have ideally restricted the count of these grand shots, because this does look cheap.

The bigger problem is the color grading is making it look like Ayan's mood board was Bal Veer or Son Pari

this is a good point, the tones in rrr and even baahubali are very earthy like a amar chitra katha comic while kgf is grey and dusty and dark, suits the retro and kgf mines feel.

rrr was much better done in vfx but now that some benchmarks are there, people will compare with that and you have to be better as you dont have the first mover advantage of originality

Vfx needs experience ..

Shankar started incorporating and experimenting with vfx in the 90s (remember the invisible man in mukkala mukabla, twins in jeans …it was one of the first few films where twins were shown in the same frame, hugging, shaking hands and all without cutting to back shots…aishwarya’s dance number where there is a skeleton dancing in the end… )

He built his skill up to deliver endhiran …

Rajamouli started his vfx journey in mid 2000s (yamadonga) and slowly started using it more in his films to show his vision on screen …and obviously built it to baahubali, Eega, RRR

They didn’t become vfx experts overnight ..they started small, doing vfx for purely experimental reasons (none of those earlier films needed heavy vfx…)…they failed and gave troll vfx in a few films and then understood and learnt the process and pitfalls …

Ayan hasn’t had that experimenting and trial and error phase

He’s going to hit a few rough patches before he gets it right …I just wished he had more vfx experience before been given something massive like this

Yeah, Ayan's schematic looks clean in the concept design, but with his budget it was never going to work. Should have minimized the VFX shots for the first film. Or gone for a more grounded set-up, so it is less jarring. Ah well, at least he tried something no one else in Bollywood has since Ra-One.

well said

This the exact problem

and this is also connected to nepotism or network, why choose ayan, why not somebody who has done that trial and error in hindi, say a tummbad director... or maybe some tv director, the same problem when you have a circle and fit them into eveything you want to do, example: cast alia in kalank rather than choose the best for the job

actually om raut's choice for adi purush makes more sense

Why did I get a feeling this movie copied some scenes from avengers, thor and some Tamil movie mythology scenesbig actors are coming AB and SRK wow

Anyways Let’s see maybe it will be blockbuster since nepo kids are involved and big production house lol. Somehow someway they will make their money. It might break KGF record.
