A cricket ground is mostly oval in shape so divides the ground with a imaginary line into 2 equal halves
~The imaginary line(dotted line) is called Line of pitch.
The two halves are called
š¹Leg-side(On-side)
š¹Off side.
~Inner Yard: Light green area
~ Outer Yard: Dark Green area
Right handed Batsmen
šøOff side ------> Field on right side
šøLeg side ------> Field on their left side.
Left Handed Batsman: positions are reversed
šøOff side ------> Field on Left side
šøLeg side ------> Field on their Right side.

š°Off-side
There are only 4 important positions on the off side which you can remember by following 4 words
Tumse Pyaara Cricket Mera ( Back to Front )
T----> Third man
P----> Point
C----> Cover
M----> Mid-off (as it's off side)

š°Leg-side(On-side)
Similarly there are 4 important positions on the leg-side too which you can remember by following
Faaltu Shot Maara toh Mara ( Back to Front )
F----> Fine-Leg
S----> Square-leg
M----> Mid-wicket
M----> Mid-on (as it's on-side)

Rest of the positions are due to movement of fielders toward Inner yard from Outer Yard OR from Inner Yard to Outer Yard in that particular area.
