Performance Discussion 21 & 22 May, 2022

First of all, very touching and inspiring stories of all the guests! I don't think we can even fathom the challenges they all go through every moment of their lives! God bless them all 🙏

I wonder how this distribution is done of who gets to sing. Why do Faiz, Rituraj and Mani get to sing on both days? Very lopsided distribution and hence unfair to several contestants.

As regards the performances, for me the most outstanding performance was Rituraj. I really don't understand how they can give DHD to Chetanya and not to Rituraj!

Next in my order was Pranjal, followed by Mani and Faiz.

The others basically did what they do - nothing extraordinary.

Pawandeep and Arunita - in my view, once again proving why they were 1 and 2 in II12 and not Danish and Sayli. They are superlative.

Edit: forgot to mention. I felt Faiz's performance was edited poorly. What they showed had more singing by Arunita than by Faiz. I think he would have sung the first Antara which they cut. Plus only Alka Yagnik's comments were shown, but Arunita's reply was "Thank you Sir.". Awful editing once again!

For me today's top 5 were Rituraj, Sayisha, Soyab, Faiz, Aryananda. Pranjal perhaps tied for 5th spot.

Aryananda needs some serious guidance on her diction - talaffuz. Danish is failing in his role as her mentor if he can't help her fix it being an Urdu speaking person himself!

In my view Aruna and Rohan are getting type cast and they need to do something else also. It wqs good to see Soyab and Chaitanya step out of their zones today, and Pranjal yesterday.

Arunita singing Dil Toh Hai Dil - just wow!

Arunita's shots when Pawandeep was reciting Amitabh Bachchan's poetry from Silsila - very clearly that was not spontaneous but shot separately and edited in. Having seen them for more than 18 months now we know their spontaneous relations versus acts they put on.

Saturday Episode -

I liked how the episode was presented. I was expecting it to be a full emotional episode as usual but it was very different. So many inspiring stories and no rona dhona. 👍🏼

Performance wise I liked Rituraj & Harshita, Pawandeep - Pranjal, Arunita - Faiz. Editing was definitely an issue as @PV_IFhandle said.

Sunday Episode -

If we look for the whole week then performance distribution was not equal but at least in this everyone got to perform solo in front of Anand Ji.

Rituraj was again brilliant. He is surprising me every week. I think he can very well be in the Finals.

I loved Aryananda's performance, for me it was her best performance in SS2 so far.

Faiz performed very well. He has such a good voice.

Rest of the performances were good too.

Aruna needs to try something different now. So far I am not much impressed by her.

I feel Faiz does better in his solos compared to duets with Arunita. Maybe he gets overawed by her level of performance and perfection. If so, he needs to learn to handle that. In life there will be inevitably be occasions where he has to either compete or collaborate with better performers than himself.

Also entirely agree with you about Saturday episode presentation.

I think most will come off poorly when they sing duets with her. I had already said that about Sayantani's duet. Also she will be singing to the scale of the contestant. So, she is making some alterations to her singing. But the sharpness and perfection creates the gulf.

Agree with you.

And they aren't doing favours to the contestants by editing out their parts and keeping only hers.

That's a shame and very unfair.
Frankly, in my opinion PD and Aru should not have been included as Captains. The whole focus of the show is impacted.
