You know when I was growing up in India and any marriage functions we would witness, my friends would sarcastically call it - "a legal contract where you are allowed to have sex without any inhibitions and of course, not to forget emotions."
So when the CVs presented us the morning after and Ram and Priya's
dialogues, oops monologues, they taught the audience that marriage is all about coitus. What is a confession, anyway? Oh, that BS where you lay down your heart and soul? That is so antediluvian! Get over it, audience!
After sex, next morning when you see the person you sleep with, you need to behave - "who art thou? Do I know you? Don't you dare touch me or come near except in the night."
I cannot take the discontinuity in the morning after. They are promoting sex with a marital license. Nonsense!
We read and watch fiction for things that are beyond reality. We love the background music when their hands touch or the eye locks or when they fall in love. Those little gestures allow us to dream and inspire us to write.
In real life, we don't get to experience multiple takes but in our dream world, we get to experience that. Without stories and their magic, the real world would be very boring. I believe certain experiences on TV can mirror reality but not all. This is the reason we come to watch the screen so that we can experience something tantalizing.
Consummation is very physical but confession is very soulful. They literally cheated us by giving us no proper morning after scenes.
I am still not sure if consummation happened because of obvious reasons, listed many times before (you know it too😂)
But today I came know that, after first time, they were awkward and they had sex second time too 🤪… no wonder Ram was thinking he is gonna be daddy cool ..
