But Mahima, her life is so sad - despite having a successful career she is perpetually in the shadow of her high profile doctor husband.
Yeah. It's quite pathetic. Grown ass adults insecure of her. I also think they are insecure of Abhira's relationship in general, because this type of love and respect is unheard of in the Birla family. Anyways, Akshu will end up winning them all over, but it's going to be a long and hard uphill battle for this poor girl.
I feel for mahima as a professional and her insecurites to that way are justified too but blaming others and throwing around weight on others is wrong imo. She had been doing it with manjari over past year and wants to do it for Akshra now as she herself belives being doctor is superior to other professions. This IMO is wrong on her part , her husband treating her lower to him is very wrong and she should get equal respect imo for being such a high profile surgeon.Harsh and Mahima are just two very unhappy people.

I think that a lot of the Birlas have the same problem. They have their own valid traumas, insecurities, and burdens of the past. But, instead of dealing with it in a proper way, they take it out on their family members. With Harsh, we don't know what the backstory is. But, regardless of what happened between him and Manjari, he emotionally abuses her, and that is wrong. His relationship with Abhi is broken due to his own inability to respect his son's emotions and the two people who mean the most to him in this entire world. But, instead of trying to understand that, he takes out his insecurities on Akshu and leaves no chance to bring her down. With Mahima, she has been disrespected and discredited by her husband throughout their marriage. She has never felt valued nor loved by him. By again, instead of dealing with that in a productive manner, she takes that out on Manjari and Akshara. She is insecure by Abhira's relationship, because she herself, has never been respected by her husband, so now, she cannot understand how Abhi respects Akshu so much. She is constantly put down at work by her own husband, so she strives for recognition at home instead. She manipulated Manjari for years to stay on top, but now, she is becoming insecure by Akshu, because she sees that everyone is falling in love with her due to her innocence and pure heart.
Some of us discussed Parth yesterday, and the same is true for him. He does not work and has lost all confidence due to the trauma that Mahima and Anand instilled in him. He was not able to pursue his true passion in life. But, instead of dealing with that, he takes out those repressed feelings on Shefali through his taunts regarding her work. He also never saw a loving relationship in his family, so he does not have any relationship to set as a model for what to follow. He saw his father taunting his mother his entire life, so now he thinks that is an okay thing to do with Shefali.
With Abhi, the traumas of the relationships he has grown up witnessing have severely wounded him and created trust issues within him. But, Abhi really does show that with abuse and trauma, either you can fall into its clutches, or you can choose a better way. He has seen the brokenness in his family, and instead of living within it, he has decided to create a better future. The pain of his past has not made him bitter, but rather, it has manifested itself into the way he loves Akshu with his entire being.
The entire Birla family dynamics are so interesting & I'm excited for them to be explored further!
