Vo usse milne chahta tha par usse devika ne bataya tha ki anu ki family bahut traditional hai so vo usse kisi musibat mai nahi daalna chahta tha..

Get a glimpse of her ?? He sees her living a happy life. He is now disappointed that he should have been a part of this happy beautiful image he is now seeing. Disappointment, I get it.

But, crying?! seriousy! Bewakoof lag raha tha. On a lighter note, I like him with the stubble 😉😳

The most important thing is - she is now a married woman. The whole thought, I want to get a glimpse of her, go see her etc isn't all that great. It makes him look cheapo!

@bold- this is my main problem with large scale weddings. There is a lot of societal pressure to make weddings grand and when the family cannot afford it they take loans which they keep repaying all their life.

Spot on! Daughters are burden. So, they try to nip this in the bud, giving rise to female infenticide,gender disparity...Vicious cycle. 😔

Added later: Sargam's recent post was about some girls walking out of the altar refusing kanyadhaan. I would applaud them if they did this for unnecessary spending, lavish gifts etc. If it benefits that individual, that is great. But if it changes the society, more power to them. Picking the right battles to fight matters.

17 yrs ago, means he knows he has lost his chance with Anu for a good 10yrs, knows she is married, likely has kids in her 10 yrs of marriage.

Now, he has come to see her knowing that she is not going to be visiting US. He appeared eager to visit her. He gets a glimpse of her smiling with her children. Feels sad, sheds tears, and leaves without meeting her. Why doesn't he meet her? I don't understand why is he sad suddenly. What was he expecting? 🤔

He has known about Anu's family thru Devika. Plus he had seen her on her day of wedding ( I think ). So seeing her now, shouldn't be breaking news for him.

He is harboring feelings for a married woman, who appears to be happy. There goes a dent in AK's char.

Added later: I read some reviews about the prequel. Based on those, the little bit of sympathy I had for Anu also vanished. The story as whole left me with more questions.

Aaisa kya hai reviews mein which made you lose sympathy with Anu? I read on Twitter that time-wise they have made some errors....how is Kavya in the story 17 years ago????

I did read the thread but didn't change my opinion, sorry!

I can very well empathize with him wanting to have a glimpse of her but I didn't understand why he cried on seeing her happy I would have thought he would have been content at least knowing that even if not with him, his Anu is still very happy in life.

Agreed! Rather than only fighting against customs one may or may not understand, I would rather that they put their energies in fighting the inequality that exists very openly within their own families.
