Hello all! I wrote a little something about the do pal that Anupama and Anuj shared with each other in her room before coming down for their sagai. Arya, sorry it's short, but i hope it lives up to what you wanted to read!
I'm terrible at Hindi,.so please translate and imagine that this is happening in hindi :)
As Anu looks at the mirror and wonders if she looks too old as a bride, she hears a whistle behind her, turns around and finds Anuj looking hungrily at her. So he'd come to get her instead of one of the kids. She felt like whistling right back, to let him know how ravishing he looked that day. He was usually a happy and confident person but he had a special swagger about him today, and it made her heart skip a beat.
"You came to get me!" She said in delight. She had hoped that they would get atleast a few moments alone today. It was great to celebrate with everyone but this was their very own day too.
"Somehow they allowed it, and I'm so glad they did, I want to finish staring at you before we go out there" Anuj said as he moved inside and took her hand. "You look beautiful, Anu, my Anu!"
"You look so handsome Anuj, my Anuj" she responded, stepping closer to him, placed her hands around his neck and pulled him into a hug.
As he hugged her back tightly, he allowed himself to feel the shape of her fit into his frame, to smell her typical scent, a heady mixture of smells he still hadn't identified and looked forward to finding out slowly through the course of their marriage.
His heart best faster as he thought of how he would find out, and as if anu could read his mind, she looked at him and said "we'll have a lot of time for this soon, but for now..." And she kissed him on his cheek.
"That's a lovely lipstick, do you have more of it"? he asked
"Yeah! I thought you might like it."
"It smells a bit like berries"
"Yeah, it tastes a bit of berries too"
"Yeah?"
"Um..hmm"
"Can i get a taste then? I believe my engagement gift is due"
Anu blushed hard, looked into her fiance's eyes, and teased. "I don't know if this will be me gifting myself or gifting you, I actually made you an engagement gift, you can eat that"
Dejected at the thought of taking something else other than what he intended, Anuj puts his hand out and anu places her gift on his hand... A small wrapped portion of chocolate fudge.
"But there's only one" he said
"I thought we could share this, like we're going to share our lives", says Anu, and goes to place it in his mouth.
Anuj stops her "Oh, no no, I want to share it all right, but if it's like sharing our lives, you get to eat first"
"Okay, let's eat at the same time", she said coyly as she unwrapped the sticky fudge and bit into a part of it.
"Let me help you with the rest" Anuj said as he closed his lips around hers and the rest of the fudge.
And it was in this way that Vanraj saw them as he walked past her room while on his phonecall. Anupama and Anuj in each other's arms, enjoying and relishing some moments before their engagement. His mind went back to the moment when Anuj declared his love for Anu, told him to let go of his zidd of retaining his power over Anupama. Because Vanraj's zidd was no match for his junoon, his passion.
It was that junoon that Vanraj could see now, not just in Anuj but also in Anu, as she held onto him tightly while they kissed each other with passion that Vanraj had never seen before.
