Scene: Anuj in Anuās room before MaAn Sagaai
Knock, Knock
āKya mai andar aa sakta hoon,ā he seeked permission while standing at the doorstep of her room as the door was slightly ajar.
āAap idhar kaiseā¦ aise kaise.. koi dekh lega toh kya kahega..ā she quizzed him as she opened the door.
She stood there wearing a tie dye saree matching the dupatta of his sherwani with a pink mirror work blouse. Hair tied in a bun, adorning a maang tikka and matching jewelry, she looked gorgeous.
Sheā¦ Anuā¦ Anupamaā¦ who he hadnāt even dared to think could be his friend few months backā¦.. was standing infront of him, all decked up and ready to be his fiancĆ©e in next few moments.
Unable to take off his eyes from her, he versed a shayariā¦.
Aaj lagta hai ishq mein sawaab mila hai
Tujhe bedhadak dekhne ka haq jo mila hai
Aaj lagta hai ishq mukkamal hua hai
Mera khwaab jo mujhe mila hai
Mera khwaabā¦.. jo mujhe mila haiā¦
Under his intense gaze, she blushed, āAap ne bataya nahi ki aap yahan kaiseā
āAb saare baatein yahan darwaze pe khade khade hi karu ya andar bhi aa sakta hoon,ā reminding her that he was still standing at doorstepā¦
Opening the door wide and letting him in, she asked again, āAb toh batayi yeā
āMere honewali mangetar ko mai sab se pehle dekhna chahta thaā¦ tum jo aaj mere liye sajji hoon toh mera haq banta hai na..tumhari khoobasoorti ki tareef karoonā¦ hai na?ā He responded while folding his arms infront of his chest and slightly leaning forward towards herā¦
āAnuā¦. Tum bahut khoobsoorat lagi rahi hoā¦ Bahut khoobsoorat,ā he complimented her making her cheeks go pink matching the shade of her blouse.
āAb mujhe aur intezar nahi hota.. Mann toh kar raha hai ki aaj hi tumhe doli mein vidaa karke le jaaoā¦ā he continued expressing situation as he placed his right hand on his heart.
Feeling shy, she turned around and walked ahead towards the mirror.
Like always, he caught by her pallu and wrapping it around his right palm, moved closer to her.
Standing behind her, they both faced the mirror together as a couple. Bending his face lower to her ears, he whispered huskily, āAb tak toh teekh hai, lekin shaadi ke baad mere dushman se dosti mat rakhnaā
Puzzled at his statement, she looked up into the mirror to see him and mumbled, āDushmanā¦ dushman matlab?ā
Looking into her eyes through the mirror, he breathed softly, āYeh jo pin lagaya hai na pallu mein.. wahi hai mera dushmanā into her ears but making it loud and clear to her about his sinister plans well in advance. A wave of heat rushed through her body, flushing her face.
She turned around quickly and hide her face in his chest while hugging him tight.
āAnuā¦ā he called out gently but before he could continue a knock was heard on the door.
āBhaiā¦ bhai..ā shouted Mukku from the other side of the door.
āMukkuā¦ tum chalo hum neeche aate haiā he responded back to her.
āChale Anuā forwarding his hand, he requested her. And they walked hand in hand down the stairs for their engagement.
