Yesterday it was all about Kings and today it is about Royals!!

RCB's out-of-touch batting looks to fire against RR's competent bowling in Royal battle

Royal Challengers may look to replace Anuj Rawat in bid to firm up misfiring top order against Yuzvendra Chahal and co

Start poorly, recover, gain momentum, lose a few and then make a last-ditch climb to the playoffs. This has somewhat been a loose trend both Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals have followed over the past few years. In that sense, being among the early pace-setters is an unusual position to be in.

Royals are slightly better off at present, having racked up impressive wins over Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals to be placed third on the points table with five wins in seven games. Royal Challengers would be relieved their customary mid-season shellacking is out of the way. A forgettable 68 all out two nights ago against Sunrisers Hyderabad leaves them currently at fifth spot, but with five wins in eight.

In the first exchange three weeks ago, Royal Challengers overcame a middle-order slump to chase down 170. Royals will be itching to pull one back, and on current form you wouldn't want to bet against them being able to do that.

The match is another exchange between key Royals players up against their former team. Devdutt Padikkal and Yuzvendra Chahal have played key roles with bat and ball. However, Anuj Rawat, a former Royals player too, hasn't quite set the batting charts on fire for his new team, and is in danger of losing his place.

But the one man who isn't yet in threat of losing it, but is in desperate need for runs is Virat Kohli. An unusually prolonged patch of low scores this season - something he hasn't been used to over the past few years - is something he will need to try and find a way out of.

Pitch Report:

It has been quite a while since the last game between CSK and GT took place at the MCA Stadium. Any score above 170 is going to be tough for the team batting second, however, the captain that wins the toss will be tempted to bowl first considering the dew factor.

Weather Forecast:

Mumbai weather is expected to be mostly sunny on Tuesday. It is highly unlikely that rain will play spoilsport during the Rajasthan Royals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore game as there are only 10 percent chances of precipitation. The wind speed is expected to be around 24 km/h on matchday, while the temperature could hover about 28 degrees Celsius to 31 degrees Celsius. The humidity is forecasted to be around 71 percent.

IPL 2022 RR vs SRH head to head record

Royal Challengers Bangalore:

Faf du Plessis’s form is little worrisome, in the last 4 matches, Faf has scored 96 runs against LSG but couldn’t pass the single digit score in other 3 matches.

Virat Kohli and Anuj Rawat are losing their form now and this will affect the batting line-up immensely.

The middle order of RCB, where their core strength is in this season, looks in a way better spot than the top order.

Maxwell and Karthik are doing a fine job to hit those crucial runs towards the end of the innings. Prabhudessai is also seen struggling a little while Shahbaz Ahmed is playing a pretty good innings.

Hasaranga needs to level up his game after going wicket less in the last 2 matches.

Hazlewood and Patel are able to pick wickets so far but Siraj isn’t playing up to the team’s expectations, especially after he was retained.

Rajasthan Royals:

Rajasthan Royals currently have one of the best squads of the season.

Buttler is in the best IPL form ever, scoring 3 centuries and scoring 491 runs. Devdutt Padikkal is also gaining his form after scoring 54 runs in the last match.

Skipper Sanju Samson has been scoring well in the last 2 matches and Shimron Hetmyer is doing his job perfectly to score those quick knocks.

Riyan Parag and Ashwin are not the best middle order batters but they are given the job. Ashwin is performing well with the ball. In the last match he picked 2 wickets for 32 runs.

Obed McCoy has now joined the party with the best bowling line-up of the season - Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravi Ashwin.
