Delhi Capitals will take on Rajasthan Royals in match 34 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 today at Wankhede Stadium.

The Delhi Capitals’ camp has been hit by COVID-19 as Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh and New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Tim Seifert have both tested positive for the virus. Two other support staff members have also tested positive.

Among the DC bowlers, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Khaleel Ahmed, and Lalit Yadav scalped two wickets each.

With four wins and two defeats, Rajasthan Royals are sitting at the third spot with a net run rate of (+0.380). While Delhi Capitals are sitting at sixth position with three wins in six games.

Delhi’s net run rate is +0.942, which is the best amongst all 10 teams.

In a thrilling match, Rajasthan Royals beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 runs in their last match at Brabourne Stadium.

Jos Buttler laid the foundation of the win for the Royals with a sublime century to take his team to a mammoth 217/5 in 20 overs.

It was Yuzvendra Chahal who claimed a hat-trick to turn the tide in Rajasthan’s favour when KKR was marching towards a sensational win. KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer scored a fabulous 85 runs but it wasn’t enough as Yuzvendra Chahal claimed five-wicket to derail KKR’s chase. Obed McCoy sealed the game for RR with two wickets in the final over.

Delhi Capitals have won the last six out of seven games against Rajasthan Royals, and this would add to their confidence.

RR bowlers have bowled at more than 10 runs per over in the last two games and this would worry the side. Rajasthan is over-dependent on Jos Buttler and Shimron Hetmyer with the bat and other players aren’t scoring runs.

For Delhi Capitals, Aussie opener David Warner is striking the ball well and he would like to provide an electrifying start with Prithvi Shaw who played a great cameo in the last game against Punjab.

Rishabh Pant, Sarfaraz Khan, and Rovman Powell make it a steady middle order and they will need to set the stage for the finishers to do well. In Lalit Yadav, Axar Patel, and Shardul Thakur the side enjoys good depth in the batting department.

Shardul Thakur struggled in the last game and the side should hand the new ball to Mustafizur Rahman and Khaleel Ahmed who have done well.

Spinner Axar Patel has been the pick of the bowlers for the side and along with Kuldeep Yadav form a very strong pair.

The side would like to see Shardul Thakur bowl well in the death overs as the Royals have good hitters of the ball.
