DC vs PBKS Tata IPL 2022 Match 32 Pitch Report:

The pitch at the Brabourne Stadium generally assists both bowlers and batsmen, with the dew factor coming to play deep in the match. The short boundaries and a quick outfield are expected to thrill the batsmen once again. This match can be a high scoring match as Brabourne has so far assisted batters the most in IPL 2022.

A slew of COVID cases in the Delhi Capitals camp has created a bit of mayhem ahead of their clash against Punjab Kings.

Mitchell Marsh and four members of the Delhi Capitals support staff had tested positive; a fourth round of RT-PCR tests conducted on Tuesday morning, had returned negative results.

Further decisions will be made after another round of tests on the morning of the game.

The clash, however, that was scheduled to be played in Pune has now been moved to Mumbai.

The Capitals haven't had the best of starts so far with just two wins in five games, slipping to a 16-run loss against RCB in their last match.

David Warner and Prithvi Shaw have given them valuable starts, but the middle order has failed to kick on to build on the foundation.

Incidentally, the duo have added 67(45), 93(52) and 50(28) in their three outings so far. DC were looking towards Mitchell Marsh to recover from the hip-flexor injury - that he had picked up in Pakistan last month - to fill the gap in the middle, having used four batters in five matches at the important No.3 slot.

No one returned anything significant.

But now with COVID catching up to Marsh, they will have to look elsewhere for answers once again. It will be a test for DC's bowlers to counter the aggression of Punjab's batsmen.

PBKS are the most aggressive side in the powerplay, scoring at 9.81 an over.

They occupy four of the top seven PP totals, with other teams struggling given the assistance the pacers have received.

That said, their scoring rate in the death overs is in stark contrast, scoring at 9.22 - the lowest among all sides, despite having assistance from dew.

After a good powerplay, they have consistently lost wickets in the middle, which has set them back in the bid for a strong finish.

Barring Liam Livingstone, most other batters have struggled to maintain any momentum for a strong finish. He is Punjab's top-scorer with 224 runs, striking at 185.12, but their next-best is Shikhar Dhawan, who has 205 runs, but has been striking at 128.93.

Shahrukh Khan and Odean Smith have particularly struggled to hit the right tempo at the death, which has not worked too well for them.

All teams, like has been the trend, will opt to chase if given the chance. They seem to be more comfortable what they're working with, with or without the dew.

Head to head: Punjab Kings lead the head-to-head 15-13, although since 2018, they're on par with each other with four wins each in 8 games.

PBKS will unleash Rabada against an in-form Warner early, who has dismissed the left-hander 5 times. Warner only averages 19.20 against the South African, but has a record 11-plus fifty-run scores against Punjab.

He has scored 945 runs in 21 innings at 49.74, so Punjab will really hope to see the back of him early in the contest.

Rabada will be up against his former franchise DC for the first time in IPL. He has 7 wickets at 20.57 at an ER of 8. He has picked at least one wicket every game.

Punjab find themselves at the bottom of the bowling charts.

In eight innings among them, the overseas trio of Rovman, Seifert and Marsh have hit 69 runs at average of 8.63, SR of 93.24 and a highest of 21.
