Imho simplicity is a trait not a virtue. Whether a person likes make up & dressing doesnt really have a bearing on whether they are good or bad at heart. There can be criminals who dont like to wear make up & kind devoted nurses who love to wear lipstick. If Priya likes to keep her look simple & avoid makeup that is her choice but by itself it does not make her mahaan.

In the context of a show what is important is consistency with character & situation. If Pri has been shown as a simple girl who doesnt care for make up, then showing her hands beautifully & noticeably manicured is inconsistent. If she is a middleclass working girl who does most of the cooking at home then also it is inconsistent. Whether the FL is simple or glamorous, showing her wear bright pink eye shadow with her nightsuit at bedtime is inconsistent. If a dear one is in hospital then showing the relatives all nicely made up is inconsistent.
