She did. After all the silent (almost) love confession from her husband, the girl asked for permission to hug. This shows how much her ego was bruised by people (men) all her life; she buried her good luck in a grave. Ram knows that he needs to dig it out and nurture it back to health.
Ram, having high EQ, understood she initiated the hug but was hesitant to move forward and walked up to her to prove assurance. He told her that 'he was afraid of losing her.' This man loves her beyond his imagination.
The whole day my stomach was churning just with that feeling. This girl has come a long way, and she needs to be confident that fate will gift her a fair share of happiness. At that moment, she couldn't believe her excellent fortune that after all the emotional beatings over the years, she found love in a guy who was coveted by the whole elite society. It is so easy to lose this ray of happiness this time, and if she fails this time, she will NEVER be able to rise from the ashes.
When she stopped herself midway after initiating the hug, the only thing that came to mind was -
"main aap ke samne ret ki dewaar nehin ban sakti
mujhe toot jaane se khauf aata hain."
Very beautifully explained all that P is going through... See P has been showing her attraction and submission to R for quite a while now... Her drunk scenes .. "mujhe to aapke Siva koi dikhta hi nahi Mr Kapoor" the way she took care of R when he was sick..both times.. the way she always submit to his hugs..and many more actions. But still R is insecure where she is concerned. (He confessed that recently to Adi)
He seeks that verbal assurance. Kitna hi bol do actions are greater than words... End of the day both are needed... Specially when one has one's own baggage. Hence I feel just as P needed R to tell her explicitly about their marriage no longer dependent on the condition or V is out or " kuchh to hai"... R also needs some words. Otherwise it's unfair. I really hope she can overcome her insecurities and be strong enough to accept her feelings.
