Although the Mumbai Indians are in a favorable position, they will most likely be missing Suryakumar Yadav for this game.

A few weeks ago, there were indications that Surya had fully healed from a hairline fracture on his thumb, which he received during the Twenty20 International series against the West Indies in February.

Captain Rohit Sharma has recently said that Mumbai would want to give Surya some time and not hurry him back into action since finger injuries can be complicated to treat.

He is unlikely to join the Mumbai XI for the next two matches, and players such as Tilak Varma and Anmolpreet Singh will need to step up their game if Mumbai scores huge runs frequently.

The mysterious spin of Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine has proven to be a source of consternation for opposing hitters, just as it did during the previous season.

The impact of some excellent bowling from Umesh Yadav during the powerplay has been magnified, and the opposing hitters have not been able to escape.

Only if Kolkata can improve their late-innings bowling will the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 see them as one of the most likely teams to make it to the playoffs.

However, although their batting hasn’t been up to par, the club boasts multiple X-factor players, not the least of whom is Andre Russell, who can make up for their inconsistency.

The Overview: Has the Mumbai Indians bowling attack lost a bit of sting? Does Jasprit Bumrah need more support? And are MI missing a gun leg spinner? They've had three days to digest the loss against Rajasthan Royals - their second in the season - and as things stand, there are no straightforward answers. MI were in a winning position against Delhi Capitals but were let down in the death overs while Jos Buttler's sensational ton left them with another unkind cut.

In a long tournament, early jitters aren't always fatal but MI will be well aware that they have several issues to fix. Ishan Kishan's panache at the top order and Tilak Varma's promise has given the side to build on, but finishing, in the last two matches, has been an issue. Kieron Pollard and Tim David haven't fired and the clash against Kolkata Knight Riders could well be the perfect opportunity to get the campaign going.

I would rather lose my 10 points than support MI
