This is exactly why I hate Abhimanyu. If he wanted his fiancée to break her fast, why the hell wouldn't he make kheer on his own? Why the hell should Mahima who doesn't believe in all this shit has to deal with it? Isn't Mahima much more senior than Abhimanyu? Won't she be busier than him? His holier than thou attitude and keeping Manjari and Akshara on a pedestal and expecting everyone to worship them like they are some dieties are so effed up. I can understand if he likes to keep them at a pedestal and does Aarti and puja on them. Why expect everyone else to do that? So much for the "alpha male metrosexual" ! Kartik was much better than this. Whatever Naira needed he made it, bread pakoda, kheer, halwa whatever. His life revolved around her but he didn't expect every other member of Goenkas should also do it. He took care of her on his own. Why can't Abhimanyu also do it if he is madly in love with her, instead of expecting other people to act like his and his wife's servants? If he says aurotan ka izzat, one more time! 😤 when will this show end!

And coming to the other post. Music therapy is still experimental. No one saves lives using music therapy except in stupid dramas. Good, Akshara is professional. Stop saying she saves lives all the time. She doesn't. Why can't people just accept it? It's in ITV's blood to portray career oriented women as bad and naive idiots as mahaan. They did with Naira too. She had to constantly prove that she can manage household and kitchen if she has to work outside. I wrote essays on the forum then as well. 😆

None of the men do that. Then why expect women to do it? It's stupid patriarchy again. Instead of easing the burden on women who want to work outside home and men sharing it, the pressure to maintain everything is on women. In that sense, Kartik was a much better male lead, because he did put enough effort into household chores and got enough backlash from Manish for that. Instead of doing Naira Jaap all the time, he actually helped her out instead of expecting Gayu or Swarna to do it. And when he did, he nicely requested them instead of ordering around. I can't believe I am praising Kartik Goenka, a male lead I despised. But can't help but say, Abhimanyu is definitely horrible and in comparison Karik was a Saint.

There are so many naalyaks in Birla house. Why couldn't Parth or Neil make kheer? Why would a woman who is 24/7 on call has to make kheer. Neil does bhai baabi Jaap anyway. Do something useful then. So, we can argue that this is an ITV show and traditions and all that stuff. Then just don't half ass with your progressive nonsense.

And of course show Mahima as wrong for constantly trying to undermine and insult Manjari, Akshara and Aarohi. It makes sense. Not because she doesn't believe in all these casteist rituals and doesn't give a shit about household chores. I am sure she earns a 7 figure salary or more. She can easily have a maid. If Parth is gonna cry, he never got to eat food made by his mother, then freaking let him. He never cries about how he never could eat food made by his dad or how he never took care of them as children. Why only the burden on Mahima.

Now the entire plot is gonna revolve around how Akshara is an all rounder who manages house and work perfectly and on the top dealing with an overbearing husband and sister but without the emotional and physical exhaustion she will go through. It won't show how it can have an effect on her physical/mental health and her life span. How taking care of everything and everyone can literally kill her slowly. I dislike such characters being praised and portrayed as aspirational. Women need more women characters who prioritize themselves and who expects their counterparts to put in half the effort. And partners who eat what the domestic workers make instead of whining about maa ki haath ki khaana or biwi ki haath ki khana when these women literally have no time. Or the men don't even bother taking time to feed them. Yeah, I saw how Abhimanyu made some khichdi once and for that his mom had to fall ill. 🙄 But professional Akshara has to keep making kachoris to feed brothers in law also.

I hate making villains out of women who despises household chores and do not want to do them.

PS: What do you think will happen if I post this on the forum? 😆

good post…you know as an Indian woman living outside of India…sometimes I find it so hard to relate to these itv dramas…ok..the rituals and festivals are fine,..we’re also Hindu Indians and celebrate them…but the portrayal of the woman…I find it hard to Relate to..where I live all women who have the opportunity study further , get a career and we work…so we work , take care of our houses and children , prepare meals , and have demanding careers…and it’s the norm…and husbands and wives share the chores…if my husband gets home before me ,.he starts preparing dinner…ok..he enjoys cooking as well…I know not all men can cook…but men who don’t cook..still share house hold chores and taking care of the kids, etc.. but on itv dramas..they make it seem like it’s impossible to have a career and still take care of your house and kids,..when everywhere else in the world,.it’s more the norm than the exception… 🤷🏻‍♀️
