Why it did not strike a chord with me.. may be I wanted Priya to let him know how stupid she feels now about some instances which she did not even register, but make more sense now, like him giving credit of the birthday party to his ex, dancing with his ex under the guise of a friend and ignoring his wife. This all the while, when everyone else knew about it.
May be I wanted her to let him know how betrayed she feels when she joins the dots about some instances that did not sit right with her earlier but she could not understand why.
Like him walking with his ex to a room and sitting behind closed doors, him taking her to his ex’s place for dinner but not caring to share her the backdrop, to top it all, bringing her to stay with them under the pretext of helping “ a friend” in need - without telling her the completely truth or taking her consent.
I would have wanted Ram to see how betrayed and disrespected she feels and how insensitive he had been with his casual actions and what is his responsibility as a husband.. and now does he still want to say “ Trust me Priya”
After this I would want him reflecting on everything and understanding that not revealing you ex was never the problem, getting her into your life under the same roof with your wife was the ultimate act of disrespect and not sure what would it take to make it right… goofiness for sure is a No no.
The least it would need is to empathise with her and not belittle your doing by saying I was afraid and it was not a big deal as it is my past.
Thank u! My thoughts exactly & I had made a similar post yest where I pointed out that Ram had not at all addressed her ‘ruswaai’. That is in fact the main grievance, because he hasnt really been disloyal. Even if Pri was not in a state to properly explain, they shd hv used a monologue to show Ram gets it.
His ‘choti si baat’ was a giveaway that he hasnt got it. He still thinks she is only upset that he hid this info from her. He doesnt see what that did to her confidence & peace of mind.
Upar se, unfortunately Priya used the wrong analogy to express her angst - the MS analogy - which will sidetrack Ram into thinking she is taking it badly only because of her MS experience, and Ram will never reflect on his own actions have exposed her to feeling let down & humiliated.
