Regional language OG versus Hindi versions

After watching more than 1 show in Bengali (which I understand piecemeal based on watching Bengali movies and shows) and Marathi (which I understand and speak quite well) and Kannada (I understand this reasonably well because I lived in Karnataka for a while) I feel like the regional versions, especially Bengali and Marathi versions of TV shows are way way better than the Hindi version which is totally bollywood style dramatic and OTT. KD is long winded in terms of dialogues but the story moves and makes sense mostly. MM in Kannada is pretty good too. I haven't seen much of Lagnachi Bedi because there's only so much of the same story I can tolerate. But in general, the regional versions do much better I think in part because of their own unique cultural references and dialogues and also because they keep it more grounded and real. The Hindi versions are confused and way too OTT in terms of costume and dialogue and cameras spinning and lights flashing..you get my drift. 😊

A great example is Khorkuto. Totally light hearted and highly watchable show in Bengali. A very good Marathi remake is Thipkyanchi Rangoli..absolutely entertaining to watch. And unwatchable is KKIS. The story is identical..execution is borderline schizophrenic in Hindi. The character and acting of the male protagonist in Bengali and Marathi is really good. Hindi just comes across..flat. Same with Ghum. Emon never lost her essence in KD. Sai is no more the same in Ghum and the show is basically unwatchable (for me at least, I know many are still enjoying it).

Moral of the story- quit Hindi..watch regional language shows. Much more entertaining and you'll learn a new language to boot 😂.

I watch Lagnachi bedi regularly. It is much better than Ghum, improved version in terms of dialogues.

I mentioned this to someone else in the forum.

Raghav is far better than Virat in terms of clarity of thoughts.

I watch the show only for him

I also get to watch MM, because my hosts watch it. I dont follow a word.

Raghav is so dreamy... looks wise.

They have changed a few things...

For example, Sammy has a past which he wants to tell Pakhi but she refuses to hear it and disclose about her own.

Shivani bua is much younger and never married but is sad bcoz of it.

BK is much milder it seems.

Karishma is softer too. Not as crap as ghum version.

Abhi Sai ka kidnap tak hi dekha hai maine.

Everything is crappier in Hindi because it's so damn loud. Dialogues, costumes..the whole shebang. For some reason regional language makers seem to have more respect for their audience..they don't think you need to ram everything down the audience's throat 3 times for them to understand it. It's like in Hindi we won't get if someone is pretty unless they wear 5 necklaces. We won't get someone is evil unless they push a pregnant woman down the stairs (making it up..you get the idea 😊). There's no..subtlety (I wanted to say nuance but that would have hijacked the conversation 😂).

For some reason shows in regional languages don't think their audiences are stupid. Hindi shows do. I think it's because these hindi show makers borrow everything from Bollywood. Then it's all OTT once you go down that route.

I kind of lost connection with Imon after she went back so easily with Ronno right after Sruthi's death. The Ujjanpur track was probably the most light-hearted track of entire show which ran for quite a long period but I couldn't enjoy it cus of the way Ronno treated Imon in her pregnancy...

The male lead who is working in Kannana version, is also doing telugu daily serial. But i never seen that they are using BDs for him in both the two serials.( am not telling using of body double is wrong). But in ghum they are using weird BDs and especially for male lead few closeup scenes, hug scenes etc. In monday episode used BD for virat, immediately they had scene vth virat and samrat. I did nt connected vth that scene. For patralekha character also they used BD, to cover up her bodydouble mohit stood infront of her, both mohit and pakhi bd look like statues, its completely weird. Its a clear cut failure of technical team.

I watch MM sometimes with my grandma, it is better than KD snd Ghum in so many ways. They are copying all the tracks, but they show the better versions of all of them, also lead couple are given the scenes they should be given. Plus ML's real wife sometime promotes this couple on SM calling them cute😆

Although the current track is some crap ig, as I haven't been watching lately.

I watch Marathi versions ka clip sometimes on SM, and I felt even that is better than KD and Ghum.
