Such a cute episode with amazing one liners from both Abhi and Akshu!!!
Everyone at the Birla household is eating and complaining about how horrible the food is, but that’s because Manjari is the one who always makes it. To everyone who insults homemakers, including the Birlas themselves, homemakers are the glue that hold families together and deserve all the respect in the world.
Swarna calls Mahima to invite the Birlas for Abhi’s pooja. She is hesitant, but agrees.
Meanwhile, Akshu calls Abhi and tells him to come immediately. They sing to each other and have the cutest conversation! They are both so happy that the engagement is finally happening. In the saddest and most stressful of times, only Akshu can cheer up her Abhi.
Abhi comes and the gates are closed. Akshu opens them and we get the sbs segment! Abhi’s expressions are priceless here and dialogues too. He asks Akshu if she is under nasha and she says that after seeing him, her heart is under nasha for sure. She tries to touch his feet, and he jumps away — this was epic!! He wants to leave to do surgery, but Akshu says today they will do his surgery.
Vansh comes and picks him up, and Abhi says to be careful or he will fall — this was hilarious!
Mahima, Shefali, and Neil come, and Abhi is relieved because his “army’ is here. Neil tells him to stay strong and keep his chest up…these cute brother moments were so precious! Again, Mahima tells them to hurry up because she has to go to the hospital and these rituals are a waste of time anyways. Mahima is getting more and more annoyed with the Goenkas, and they are definitely setting up the dynamics for after shaadi too.
Meanwhile Aarohi calls the hospital to make sure that Manjari is okay — not because she is concerned, but because she does not want to get caught.
Swarna does Abhi’s arthi and it’s time for the bhog that Akshu has herself made. There was again really cute and funny back and forth between Abhira here.
The Goenkas whisper to each other saying thank god Harsh didn’t come or the fun would be ruined, and Mahima and Shefali think they are gossiping about them. Mimi says that even they didn’t used to like having fun, and Akshu will change the Birlas too — which is exactly what is going to happen!
Akshu starts feeding Abhi, and one of the dishes is sweet potato, which he is allergic to. He decides to keep eating it, because he does not want to hurt her feelings. Mahima notices his reaction and blasts Akshu, saying how dare she not know. Akshu gets really scared and starts crying. Abhi tries to calm her down, but Mahima keeps yelling…again, Akshu’s life is not going to be easy after marriage. Mahima is already getting threatened by the power Akshu holds and is starting to hold over the Birlas… and she is of course irritated by all these functions too.
This entire sweet potato scene seems to have 2 significances to me. 1 is quite sweet and simple. When we love someone, we are willing to do anything for their happiness, even if it hurts us… and that is what Abhira will always do for each other.
But, within this track specifically, Akshu will unintentionally hurt Abhi and blame herself, dying in guilt… thinking that Aarohi’s car caused the accident and she did not check. But, Abhi will know it was not her fault and will forgive her immediately. He will stand by herself, but she will take on the blame regardless, because her worst fear of all is harming him or seeing even a single tear in his eyes. It is quite beautiful actually.
Aarohi brings an anti-allergic pen and his reaction goes away. To me, this showed that for the time being, Aarohi has calmed down. She is no longer after Abhira and their happiness, because she is busy in her own mess… this scene seemed to symbolize that for sure.
Mahima and Shefali have to leave for work, and it is time for Abhira to choose a ring.
But, Akshu is missing — probably have a breakdown for unintentionally harming Abhi….
