Interpreting art for harm can be done by anyone.

X piece of art exists. Myriad of interpretations.

- X tells me to love all of humanity

- X tells me to destroy all humans who don't love X

- X is evil so we must destroy all humans who love X

- I don't like X, but I don't care if others love X

- X is stupid but I can't be knackered by it

- many more

There can be no subjective interpretation of a word that has only one literal meaning. Destruction of idols mean only one thing in the context of Islam.

And why would a pakistani muslim would mean any other god when he talks of allah? If he did, it would be considered blasphemy ?

Faiz's poem is very much popular among muslims of india and pak. Proves allah in the poem cannot be any other god.

It's actually funny to see people trying to secularise a poem talking about the promised judgement day in the book of denstiny, removing the idols and establishing the rule of allah.

How do you interpret it in any other way?

I find it hilarious that people who find bharat mata ki jai n jai shree ram communal and scary in india are secularising this bigotry filled poem which basically endorses the idea of islamic caliphate

U said it as it is (especially about the judgement day, book of Destiny and !slamic Caliphate.)

But people will forcefully make it secular like they forcefully give terrorists a humanitarian image makeover.

OR maybe making it secular is just Al taquiya.

Our Sanathan Dharma gives us the freedom to worship God in any which way we please including worshiping ones own soul- because God is shapeless and formless. But the ultimate aim is to reach to a place where you destroy every form, every shape and identify yourself as one with your own Aatma/Soul and see it in every thing around you.

A lot of what Qoran says has been lost in the translation, perhaps. It’s not the book that is the problem, it’s the interpreters and recipients who consume it without questioning that are the problem.

Islam needs better followers.

Even if quran is saying idol worshippers are kafirs etc.

That was 2000 years ago.

Now its 2022.

Why is the text still being interpreted like that?

Hinduism also has holy scriptures, but they are all if you notice more spiritual in nature. And the guidelines are still applicable for today. There is very less need to interpret it with todays times

But quran , some of the teachings should not be applied today, otherwise it just causes destruction of other religions and culture.

Heck, even the Hijab, burqa etc were more apt maybe 2000 years ago when women were abducted and raped commonly and needed to be hidden.

Its 2022, we humans have evolved in society. Why is then the burden on modesty being thrust on women only?

Purdah was a wrong system, sati was a wrong system.

All that stopped because people evolved.

Why is then Islam still behind the times. Why are the followers not thinking

If the current strategy is working beautifully, why would they change it? 😳

By strategy, I mean this. Inclusivity/secularism ki nautanki karo, until you have the demographic strength. Once you achieve that demographic strength, all bets are off! Now we set the rules. If you don't play by our rules, then you know what happens.

It's a very simple but extremely effective, tried and tested strategy. What is the incentive even if you are a moderate Muslim, to abandon that strategy? I don't see any 😉.
