I think he gave her a stern talking to, because he is already seeing her trying to ruin the festivities -- first by knocking over the tilak and then by coming in between them during the photoshoot. Also, he notices everything. He notices her dirty looks and how she is clearly not happy. Abhi has never seen Akshu this happy ever before, and he wants to protect her happiness at all costs....and, he also already knows what sorts of behavior Aarohi is capable of. To tie it all together, we all know that Abhi is impulsive, and he is extra impulsively protective when it comes to Akshu. While Akshu waits to take action and remains patient, Abhi is the exact opposite. So, I totally understand why he warned Aarohi, and I think that he was completley justified in doing so. But, I also agree that he has obviously provoked her and pissed her off. I think more than anything else, she is upset that she has been called out and that he has seen right through her. This story has always been about Aarohi vs. Abhi with Akshu in the middle... and whereas last time, Aarohi's burdens trapped Akshu, this time, Abhi's love has set her free. This time, I am sure that we are going to see Akshu choose Abhi and destroy Aarohi when the time comes, as Aarohi is going to go after Abhi in full form now!
I really liked the gharwali reference, because again, Abhi knows Aarohi and what she is capable of ... so he is basically warning her to stay within her limits. I thought it was a really welcome change, especially for ITV.
The "girls behind him" to me was basically to show that he never believed in love before he met Akshu. I thought that entire scene was so cute and passionate at the same time!
