The fact that this happens immediately after Anthony and Edwina have a brother-sister kinda talk and he promises to take care of her dowry and Edwina was there to meet Kate with so much affection- and we never getting it ๐๐

Very tight schedule for this year๐
Its okayyyyyyy.
I have two views lol.
If you do read - then you have a threshold to compare the series to and since its the best book in the series you will have a LOT of expectations from the story. Now that we know they've completely revamped the shizz outta it we're already disappointed lol.
If you don't read - then you are going to go ahead with a fresh mind of a new story altogether which has its benefits but at the same time the book has a lot of other aspects that warm your heart not just Kate or Anthony but other characters too. Specially Edwina and Kate's sis bond which we know is gonna get ruined because there's a triangle happening here.

I actually think it might be better if you havenโt read the books - with this show.
JQ has given up complete creative control and idk if thatโs a good thing considering how much they changed in Book 1/ S1 and not all of it was good! (But they did make that problematic scene a little less problematic so Iโll give them that much..)
When it comes to TVWLM my expectations are sky high and thatโs why I think the makers wonโt be able to deliver but who knows. Theyโve got the casting right at least so Iโm still holding out hope that even though we may not get to see the sweet scenes from the book, what they do show is does not take away the essence of who these characters are at their very core. Both A and K have some deeply rooted insecurities and they each help to bring the other oneโs out in the book, and I hope they donโt take that away. Iโm hoping with the success of S1 the writers are more careful not to include problematic elements and make their characters (at least the main leads) more likeable. Not that TVWLM had many problematic elements but people see what they see- do you know some actually think A forced K on their wedding night when he said โI cannot wait any longerโ - so yeah. I rest my case.

Then I'll probably read the books a few years later๐คฃ

Ooh.. that's why I don't usually like shows/movies based on books especially if I've read them already but if I haven't then I do!
I'm mostly not reading these books for now but I know if the writers ain't involved a lot gets lost in adaptation. Happened in Shadow and Bone as well but as I haven't read, I don't have much qualms. Do watch it, it's beautiful!
