I am assuming that Harsh had sometime raised his hand on Manjari which Abhi had witnessed that's why he makes sure that Harsh doesn't want anything to do with his mother and there is a need to protect her from her husband himself.

I dont think its about an extra marital affair. I dont think Abhi is a character who would have kept it as a secret from his family until now. Or maybe its an open secret within the family, just not revealed to the audience.
