Akriti? Akriti Di? She was flirting her husband? Huh, what? What was happening here? Gungun was so confused that she stood there for a whole minute watching the exchange between the two. It was less of a conversation and more of Anubhav trying to do his work and Akriti hovering over him like some pampering Bua.

But the rage filled her quickly; so this was what she was up to? This whole time when she would say nasty things to her lovely Bua, say horrible things to her over a call, this is what she'd do behind their backs? Flirt with HER HUSBAND?

Gungun realized she was calling Chant Chashmish her husband quite a lot these days, par baat toh ek hi hai na. Husband ho ya Deal Partner.

-------------Anubhav POV---------------

Anubhav had had an early start to his Tuesday; so early in fact, that he'd forgotten his lunch at home. His poor Maa had made it with her own lovely hands and he was foolish enough to forget it. But by now, he was in the thick of it. He had a report pending and he did not want to stop it right now to go and eat lunch so he was going to power through it and maybe, just maybe, he could return home early today to have some evening snacks.

The thought of meeting Gungun flashed through his mind, bringing a small smile to his face. His buddhu-par-thori-si-pyaari wife. She would probably be bored in their room or entertaining herself with Golu Chachu's bad jokes. But once he got home, she would attach herself to Anubhav like she was being paid to annoy and insult him. Frankly speaking, it was seriously adorable, the way she would follow him around like a cute duckling.

Anubhav chuckled to himself as he flipped open a file. A presence beside him made him realize he was not alone.

"Kya hua, sir? Aap akele main kyun hass rahe hain?"

Akriti. His junior, who was getting really annoying lately. Ever since he'd married Gungun she'd become even more annoying, narcissistic in attitude and extremely rude when it came to his wife.

He could tolerate tasteless jokes at his workplace, but when it came to his family, his wife, Anubhav was not so tolerant. He had a temper that could lash out at anyone, especially those who wanted to harm his family members. And right now, Akriti was not in his good books.

Ever since his wedding, it was as if she was purposefully trying to cause a rift between himself and his wife. And so, he tried his best to avoid her outside of work and at work kept distance from her.

Still, times like now, he wished he could assign her to another Senior Lab Technician.

Anubhav shook his head at her and turned back to his work, handing her a file to check over as he went over the finer details on his computer. He could still feel her standing there, hovering behind him and being an annoying chipku but professionalism came first, so he kept quiet.

That was until he heard the door creak open loudly. Usually, Anubhav would've ignored the noise because it could be any worker coming inside but hearing Akriti gasp in shock had him turning in his chair. And he was so glad he did. Because he, too, was shocked.

Stood in the doorway to the dark lab, was Gungun.

No, not Gungun.

This was his wife.

This was Riddhima Kulshreshth.

She was dressed every bit like the traditional bahu of his family. Wearing a beautiful Indian dress, her hair flowing down behind her as usual, with small jhumkas in her ears. She sensed him gaping at her in shock; up and down and down and back up went his eyes as he checked her out.

Gungun looked down at her dress self-consciously then back up at him and raised an eyebrow. Kaisa laga? She seemed to be asking with her eyes.

Buhat khoobsurat, he tried to tell her back with his eyes.

It seemed to work because Gungun blushed and curled her hair behind her ear shyly. Anubhav was close to combusting; he really needed a moment alone with his wife but his junior was still here. Not to mention, this was Gungun's older cousin sister and he needed to hold himself back.

Anubhav called out, "Gungun? Yahan achanak kaise?" He stood up to go to her and noticed she was carrying a lunch box. His eyebrows rose in surprise. So Gungun, his pyaari Gungun, was here to hand-deliver his lunch? Waah, aaj kahan ke suraj nikla hai?

She noticed him looking and rolled her eyes, "Ziyada khush nahi ho, yeh maine nahi banaya hai. Maa ne banaya tha par tum stupid logon ke tarah, isse ghar bhool aaye. Woh toh main itni achi hun na, main le aayi. Aur mujhe tumhara Institute bhi dekhna tha."

Gungun was talking casually but Anubhav could see her eyes taking in everything around her. He smiled at her and said, "Aao tumhein lab ka tour karwata hun."

Before Gungun could reply, a shrill voice interrupted their moment. "Lab ka tour? Sir, no offence, but that is not allowed in our Institute. Outsiders are not allowed anywhere inside. Yeh yahan takk kaise pohonchi, yeh main nahi jaanti, lekin isse yahan se jaana chahye."

Akriti folded her arms as she said this and Anubhav felt his temper rising as she continued without letting Gungun explain, "Aur yeh tumne kya pehen kar rakha hai?" Akriti laughed. "Dupatta kaise pehente hain, yeh bhi nahi aata tumhein, typical ameer baap ki bigri hui beti."

Anubhav completely lost it when he saw Gungun's expression fall. Akriti had unknowingly but very smartly hit a sensitive point for Gungun. She had always been used to wearing Western clothes and designs all her life but Indian wear was rarely something for her. Today, she was finally wearing something Maa had given her with the love a mother has for her daughter. And Akriti Saxena was insulting her for it!

"Akriti Saxena! Keep your mouth shut." He yelled at her, raising his voice at his junior when in all his years he had never once done that. The woman's eyes went wide with shock.

"Sir what-"

"Nahi, abhi tum meri junior ki tarah baat nahi kar rahi ho. Abhi tum meri biwi ki cousin ki tarah baat kar rahi ho. Tum meri biwi ki insult kar raho, Akriti, and I will not stand for it, do you understand?"

"B-but sir, main toh bas-"

"Aur kuch nahi, Akriti. Aur han, jahan baat rehti hai tumhari, right now and right here you are still my junior. You have no right to say anything to your Senior's wife. Why a Senior's wife is visiting the Institute is none of your business and does not relate to your scientific work. Acha hi hoga agar aaj ke baad se tum aisa kisi bhi Senior ke visiting family member ke saath nahi karogi."

Akriti's face was completely pale, as she could not imagine her crush was yelling and shouting at her so much. What had she done that was so bad? It was all because of this stupid Gungun! She turned around and fled from the lab, not wanting anyone to see her tears.

Gungun jumped to the side to avoid being hit by a fleeing Akriti and looked back in shock at Anubhav.

"Waah Mr. Scientist, tumhari toh awaaz bhi itni tez nikalti hai workplace par. Kitne tough boss ho, yaar." But her eyes were clear now and Anubhav could tell she was thankful for taking Akriti out of the room.

The horrible moment was over and now Anubhav could properly check his wife out. "Waise aaj achanak yeh kya plan bangaya aapka?" He kept the tone of his voice sweet and low, and Gungun picked up on it right away as she looked at him with her big eyes.

Anubhav began walking towards Gungun, and she began fidgeting with her dupatta, "M-matlab kya hai tumhara? Koi plan wlan nahi tha mera, bass bangaya aise hi." She brushed her hair back self-consciously and looked everywhere but not at him.

"Mera matlab yeh hai ke aaj meri biwi, itni sundar dress main, woh bhi mere office main, mere lunch ke saath?" Anubhav teased her.

"Biwi kisse keh rahe ho?" Gungun warned him, raising her finger at him.

Anubhav leaned in, "Akriti ko." And was quickly slapped in the chest really hard by his real wife. Anubhav laughed and leaned back, checking Gungun's expression that was frowning at him. Jealous baby.

"Acha sorry baba, aisi hi mazaak kar raha tha. Waise seriously, lunch le kar aayi ho? Maa ke haath ka?" He took the box from her and smiled as he let her explain the story of Maa making gobi parathay for him but how he forgot them.

"Aur phir Neeti Bhabhi ne kaha ke main yeh pehen kar jaun, so here we are now." Gungun finished her story and Anubhav nodded along.

"Hmm," Anubhav set the box down on his table and looked around the empty lab before deciding that his raasta was clear, "lekin ek aur baat batao mujhe."

"Han? Woh kya?"

Swiftly, Anubhav stepped closer to Gungun and took her in his arms, smiling at her surprised yelp. She struggled to let herself loose but he held tight.

"Aye Chant Chashmish yeh kya kar rahe ho? Koi agaya toh?" She hissed at him, continuing to struggle as she looked at the door.

Oh, so now Papa ki Pari suddenly had a conscience and was scared of being caught doing something shameless.

"Main? Main kya kar raha hun?" Anubhav acted innocently, but then began leaning down towards Gungun. Seeing her eyes widen in shock, he quickly changed his course and whispered in her ear.

"Aaj lag rahi hain aap, Mrs. Riddhima Kulshreshth."

Instantly, Gungun stopped struggling and looked up at him as he moved back.

"Really?" She whispered at him and he nodded in answer. The two spent some time gazing into each other's eyes. It was as if no one could interrupt their little bubble.

Anubhav lifted his hand to brush the hair back from Gungun's face and loved the way she leaned into his touch subconsciously. The two never wavered their eyes from each other's. Without knowing he was doing it, Anubhav began leaning down and Gungun's hand sneaked up to the collar of his jacket.

In the next moment, Anubhav placed a feather-light kiss on the corner of Gungun's lips, feeling her breath shaking against his cheek, and loving the scent of her surrounding him. Caressing her cheek with his thumb, Anubhav moved back from her, noting how she had her eyes closed and was breathing heavily.

"Gungun? Tum theek ho?" He asked, worried he'd pushed her too far. He wouldn't forgive himself if he took advantage of her-

In his moment of worry, she herself took advantage and pulled him down to her with both hands on the collar of his jacket, placing her lips against his. Anubhav was tense at first due to the shock but quickly he melted against her and two remained in a lip-locked embrace, enjoying the touch of their lips against the other's.

But a loud hooting noise had them springing apart in surprise. Anubhav spotted his coworkers heading in through the lab's door, with gleeful expressions on their faces. Oh shit, had they been caught?

Gungun was horrified that she'd just been caught kissing her husband at his workplace. Oh god, how was she going to live down the embarrassment of everyone seeing such an intimate moment?

Her worries calmed a little as Anubhav pulled her to his side, letting her hide her face in his jacket. "Uh hi guys, yeh hai meri biwi, Riddhima aka Gungun."

Gungun quickly wiped her mouth to remove any messy lipstick and turned around to give them all a happy grin, "Hi guys, I'm Gungun!"

"Hi Gungun!" They all greeted her back and soon the coworkers were asking general questions about the couple, which they answered politely but not one of them ever said anything about catching them red-handed.

Anubhav breathed a sigh of relief when Gungun announced she should be going.

"Haan Gungun, tum ghar jao, Maa aur Badi Maa intezaar kar rahi hongi." He nodded at her with a significant look in his eyes which she understood right away.

"H-han main nikalti hun, bye. Bye guys!" For the first time since their wedding, Anubhav experienced his wife actually listening to him. She was probably just as embarrassed as he was, on getting caught kissing.

Anubhav went back to his work and the eventful day seemed to be getting close to being over. That was until his coworker came in and said, "Bhai bura nahi maan na tu, lekin ek advice hai."

Suddenly feeling nervous, Anubhav questioned him, "Han yaar bata, everything alright?"

"Mera toh alright hai, lekin ek married man se doosre married man ko advice dun?"

Anubhav nodded reluctantly, worried.

"Koi eventful moment ke baad na, apna chehra zarur check karlia kar." With that his coworker cheerfully left the lab, leaving Anubhav in extreme panic.

His face? What was wrong with his face? Was it written on his face that he was kissing his wife at work?

Anubhav rushed to the attached bathroom in the lab and groaned at his reflection, "Margaye aaj, Gungun yeh sab tumhari ghalti hai."

Next to his lips, was the bright mark of pink lipstick, making it very obvious what he and Gungun had been doing before everyone interrupted them. With a groan of shame, Anubhav hid his face in his hands. But then, he smiled at the memory of Gungun's touch and her scent and her embarrassed expression at being caught. She was too adorable. And now he couldn't wait to get home.

Anubhav wiped his mouth with a tissue paper and said goodbye to everyone but Akriti as he left. Time to go home and torment his wife with her embarrassment.
