Varun Badola is not one of those who get caught in image moulds. As an actor, he has proved his versatility time and again. Now, He is getting loads of applause for his dancing skills in Nach Baliye.
Badola says, "I think I'm an okay dancer. My body does move to rhythm but then again, I need constant rehearsals." Giving the credit to wife Rajeshwari, he adds, "She is a better dancer than me but I think I can sing decently. When it comes to performing I rely a lot on my wife."
The self-effacing actor has been in the news for 'the battle of attitudes' between his co-stars of Astitva. Niki Aneja Walia was being accused of high handed behavior by her juniors. The matter became so serious that Abbas Khan and Yuvika Chaudhary even walked out of the show. What is his take on that? "I'm clueless about what transpired the cold war between Niki and the newcomers," he shrugs. "When all this was happening I was working with another unit of the show. So, I really wouldn't know whose fault it was. I read about them having problems working with Niki in the newspapers. I did work with Yuvika for a few days but I didn't get an opportunity to work with Abbas at all. I re-united with the Astitva team a few days after he quit the show. So, there was so interaction. I had no problem working with Yuvika. I wonder what could've gone wrong between Niki and her?"
On the work front Badola's plate is full. Three big shows keep him busy round the clock. But one hears that he recently turned down Ravi Chopra's new TV show. "Firstly, I'm grateful to Raviji for considering me for the role in his show. He'd called me a month ago and that's when we discussed the role but with my back to back shooting schedules I didn't even have the time to go and meet him. Not being able to meet a senior person like him is my loss and I truly regret that! I'm over committed as far as work is concerned. Hence I had to turn it down," he says.
