This is what I don't agree with. I totally understand what you are saying. It's just that I don't agree. Marriage can't be a choice in my opinion. If it's not social conditioning, why would anyone get married. Nobody has been able to convince me yet. Please don't take this as a personal attack but I honestly think seeing marriage as a personal choice is women consoling themselves for having to get married.

Like I said, I will get married that is a fact. I am doing it for my family who would prefer it. I am doing it so that I might be more safe. But not for marriage itself.

It's a good point, I'm not entirely sure... I think I saw some documentary on this where the matriarchal lineage means that the male parentage is not as important so the 'husband' status is not permanent or restricting. But I'm really not all that certain.

So just a quick comment in passing - there are species which are gender fluid. I took a really cool Biology class on this and we can chat more tomorrow about this. (How common it is in humans is another discussion...)
