It really was a crummy way to kill her - so pointless. If they were going to take her out, let her die saving Kairav or baby Akshu or her precious Kartik.
I do think DKP like to troll the fans - I remember they put out a promo showing Kartik would find Naira before he and Vedike completed their wedding but the reality was a gut punch. And then some people figured out the Vedika marriage wouldn't be legal because the statute of limitations based on presumed spousal death hadn't expired. So they showed Kartik had divorced Naira and registered his marriage with Vedika or something equally implausible. I do think they like making the fans sad...
