I read this book called Love in the time of Affluenza about rich Indian housewives in Bombay who think their husbands are having an affair which was super funny
i think this sounds like the perfect light reading I'm looking for!

It is super funny and the protagonist is so self deprecating I loved it π€£
I find now I can only read light works if I'm going in for fiction.. Anything heavy, political, social issues etc., or stuff that has any gore and all I don't want.. I just am not able to handle it.. Even movies and serials.. It must mean that I miss out on most of the best works but π€·ββοΈ
And contemporary these days all has just this kind of content.. So I don't know what to recommend you.
I stick to the oldies, they are more sensitive π¬ and whatever I read of contemporary is just chick lit.. There now you know my vice! βΊοΈ
I comfort rewatch shows too but they're usually old American sitcoms- like Third Rock from the Sun, Scrubs, Frasier, Seinfeld.
I don't think I've gone back to any ITV shows...

I go through these phases as well. Where I watch mindless ridiculous shit. That's how i ended up here now. But it is always short period. That later I wonder why. π
Wait, are you telling us you're going to regret hob-nobbing with us forum riffraff when this phase passes???π

Lol. I just go to get some things done for 10 minutes and there are already so many pages gone by. π
I love reading Zadie Smith. On Beauty is really funny. I love the way it makes fun of academia. Joan Didion is amazing yes.
