My fav streamer (a female) treats all her female friends like literal Queens and I've learnt a lot from her.
Although we may agree to disagree, I value your opinions and it's really nice to have a conversation upfront here š¤

I think there's both context and nuance here that's hard to separate - it's kind of a chicken and egg situation with the ingrained biases and gender inequality. And quite probably in the US the situation is different than in India than in say, Saudi Arabia.
Some of the bias does come from personal reasons which can make a person wary of men as individuals. For me, I think it really comes down to the potential for harm and the likelihood that an individual man can cause me much more irreparable harm than an individual woman. Now in a professional or casual social setting, where the outcome spectrum covers more annoyances and affinities rather than actual harm, I do tend to go more on personalities and traits. But that's where the gossiping, the learned helplessness and so on often cause me to be more comfortable around (some of) the men.
One of my profs says women can't really understand gender discrimination till they're enmeshed in their assigned gender roles - meaning as wives and mothers. Her point was us mid-twenties university educated single women are not all that different from our counterpart men and don't really get it...
Aiyiyi! My brain is now in a puddle...š¤£

I totally agree. It's the same reason why intersectionality is important, right? If you take India there is this huge rift going between savarna feminism and Dalit feminism just like white feminism and black feminism.
Women have way many issues to deal with and men's feelings are not even in the list because they are the cause of majority of it.
