I agree with everything, except @bold. They did a great job by not saying anything. First it kept the suspense up, in true way, like I even thought that they'll be married and go to Canada and return after a leap.

Second, what was unsaid, it's in his gaze and flashbacks, and the angst was real. The way KSV and even audience thought that he's there to stop the engagement, but he's there to see her happy. The angst was so intense... God love those scenes.
