aika-guṇyam anīhāyām abhāvaḥ karmaṇāṃ phalam
atha dvai-guṇyam īhāyāṃ phalaṃ bhavati vā na vā
Lack of effort has one outcome: the result of action is nothing. But effort has two outcomes: the result may come, or not.
