So that was a fairly hectic marquee set. Lots of bids - I think de Kock and Warner were got at bargain prices.

So here's the franchises who were in action:

Punjab Kings: Shikhar Dhawan (8.25 crore), Kagiso Rabada (9.25 crore). So they've got an opening partner for Mayank Agarwal and a new-ball attack leader.

Rajasthan Royals: R Ashwin (5 crore), Trent Boult (8 crore). They needed bowlers, having retained only batters, and they've got two experienced ones.

Kolkata Knight Riders: Pat Cummins (7.25 crore), Shreyas Iyer (12.25 crore). They've spent a big part of the purse. Got a captain in Iyer - or even Cummins possibly.

Gujarat Titans: Mohammed Shami (6.25 crore). Solid experience to add to the core they have.

Royal Challengers Bangalore: Faf du Plessis (7 crore). Solid performer, but I'm wondering about him and Kohli opening together, they're both similar sorts.

Lucknow Super Giants: Quinton de Kock (6.75 crore). Great buy, and perfect complement to KL Rahul as opener.

Delhi Capitals: David Warner (6.25 crore). What an opening combo he'll make with Prithvi Shaw.
