Okay another random observation ...

Tasha's eyebrows are so 90's! V pencil thin

Adi (the male coworker with Sasha) - his laugh is so precious 🤣 "huhhh huhhh huh"

reference point in story: Geet's first day as Maan's secretary and she needs to call an HOD meeting

tasha and Sasha are such epic 2010 looks. Clubwear to the office complete with pencil thin brows 😂.

omg, def was thinking that, too! I was like, Tasha, how do you sit?

yes, girl, Geet was flying high until Maan told her it was his office. It’s funny bc the advice he gives her always has a caveat when she tries to apply it to him. 😆 I think her tears regarding his character commentary shook him up a bit, but he just did some reaction formation business and trolled her instead. I have a feeling Sasha is going to be jelly of Maaneet’s “past” 😆

Also, his kitchen is such an era of design. Pink walls, purple accent walls, fruit accent tiles, and solid wood furniture & counters 🤣 felt too vanilla for him 🤣

dude the sir and that look on his face, I remember to this day. It’s the new dynamic and just the way she said it too. Like oh damn I have to now 🙄 .

Lol, thanks Pooja 😆 I think there’s a certain beauty in watching a show that’s ended … the power to binge watch and the knowledge that at some point - everything sorts itself out 🤣 no bombs or whatever to disturb my mental peace 🤣🤣

this convo about Maan and Dom tendencies should definitely happen when I have the bandwidth to think about it deeper but … I currently see him as a Dom light.

He’s not about the whips & chains but more so the satin blindfolds and candle wax. Begrudging pleasure and a little pain. I guess the chemistry between the leads creates this smoke & mirrors illusion… so you’re always left guessing what judgement or conclusion they’ve passed on one another. There’s an illusion of intimacy when in reality, they’re just touching the surface. Things look like they want to combust. Especially now that these flashbacks include more tepid/empathetic emotions regarding their meetings.

I think Maan’s demeanor is also very sensual. While he protects Geet’s modesty, there’s this sense of protection and conduct that has this underlying feel of the “reward being worth the anticipation.” I dunno, the way he surveys her, it feels somewhat predatory but not in that creepy way. It’s like the tiger wondering if the bunny will scatter or come closer.

The way he approaches Geet to tell her they’re going to Amritsar, especially when he cages her against the tree, there’s a certain appraisal of her limits. Almost like they’re playing chicken .. who will break the mold first? It’s a battle of wills which Geet acquiesces to and also falls into role with. He’s firm and she’s soft. They allow one another to assume that dynamic. A truly healthy d/s relationship doesn’t force a conformation to role but revolves around a constant power play.

Maan, purely off the moments he’s given advice, seems like the Dom who tries to get his sub to experience the most; whereas Geet is the sub who allows the Dom to experience that high of guiding & protecting. The power will always be in her court

Maan allows the bunny to growl and then takes command. It’s a bending of wills and a conversation of guided growth. The night of Suhaag raat, when he unnervingly describes the course Geet’s life truly does take, it’s almost like he’s saying “Little lamb, let me show you the mirror and then the other side. Let me show you the path on the dark side … an alternate universe from what you know.”

The times he’s spoken straight to Geet, “listen to me,” “you’re going to xyz with me,” “seatbelt” ! may seem like the Dom part but it truly isn’t … that’s just some sexual frustration speaking. Thankfully a bunny has crossed the tigers path …🐰🐯

Also, i see him as a Dom but not in sexual context.... Like what you also said.

It could also be for the fact that maan didn't have very traumatic experience in life? He had a break up and family issues, but it hasn't been clarified in the show what was his age when there were family problems? Probably he used the relationship as escape mechanism to full out his family problems? Infering that himself didn't give 100% to the relationship, you can't always blame the one who broke the relationship.

Absolutely agree about Maaneet getting to know one another so there’s definitely no sexual aspect of the relationship…yet. But there’s definitely a pushing of boundaries.

I’ll get back to the backstory past of Maan once I have a better frame of reference. Not there yet in the epis 😆 but I’m curious, do you mean one needs to have a traumatic experience in order to pursue a d/s lifestyle preference? I think these deviances from expected societal norms are just facets of personalities. The variety of perspective and psyche.

Agree about the relation percentage … it becomes a drag or burden when one person always commits more than another.

For Suhaag Raat commentary, I mean that Geet seemed dismayed and shocked that Maan so accurately described how she’s lived her life from her parents home, a dominating/ intimidating veer ji, and straight into the arms of a husband. That she’s an 18 year old willing to keep her head bowed. His words were almost like him putting his hands on her and shaking her sane. The truth, or something said so directly to a person in denial, is overwhelming. Geet looked like she was facing a crisis. Were these decisions taken in her life right ? Or wrong? Her constant bowing and marriage were expectations but in reality she just blindly trusted in a system desiring to make her weak & without a voice
